I don't know many adults that can manage 3 weetabix!
T went to his first little boy birthday party yesterday. It was too cute. His friend was 1 and I has inspired me to hold one for T when he's 1 in a few weeks. Nice and simple, no games or anything organised. Just party food, a room with toys and birthday cake
Have a good Sunday all (even if it's a bit rainy at times)

Thanks so much for replying re the weaning. I've hit a point where I'm worrying I'm doing everything wrong. He's been up 3.5hrs this morning and is refusing all milk and food. I've looked in his mouth this morning and swear a tooth is cutting but he goes mental at me going near his mouth so I'm finding it hard to be sure. For the first time in ages I feel lost. . He absolutely sobbed his heart out this morning which I've never heard him do but he definitely doesn't seem ill. He had a shocking night too. He was up for 2.5 hrs partly crying, partly babbling, feeding and whimpering. Then constantly we heard small cries and whimpers before he settled himself
How I wish he could talk! !!0 -
morning
sorry to hear LO has been crying lots Bangton, it is awful as a mummy to hear. Is the stuff you're using for teething working? If he won't let you into his mouth maybe you can try pouring teething powder in?
I'm losing the will to wean as kitchen works are making it so difficult. OH is painting this weekend so it smells and everything is covered with plastic sheeting arrrgh!0 -
Ahh I didn't know milk in cereals/porridge counts! Thanks for that. He's defo not having 28oz. Usually 25 and he has 5 teaspoons of puree at each meal before he rejects the rest. I'm surprised really. He's a big baby and I expected him to chug it all down and he's totally not!
I'm the same with DS2, he's a big boy but I really don't know how because even now at nearly 4 he doesn't eat much at all, not compared to DS1 who has always been on the 50th centile.0 -

Aww definitely sounds like it could be his teeth coming through.0 -
Babies definitely can and will go off food and milk when their mouths are sore.
It's really worrying but he will get better. Try the teething powders/gels if you can get anything into him. Calpol too if he's old enough. He might like cool foods like yoghurt?

I've heard nibbling on a refrigerated cucumber stick can help with teething.
Just another post to say LO did really well with some roasted sweet potato, parsnip and peppers. It helps that it's mushy when it gets to his mouth so he can chew some off. Haven't tried giving water yet with his meals, am I supposed to start doing that with BLW?0 -
Weridly, my LO stuffs himself with food but is between 9th and 25th centile, so go figure
Bangton R.e the unsettled ness and unwilling to eat, sure sounds like teething to me, poor little poppet.
Benice - I would offer water with solids, they might not be interested yet which is ok too, but it's there if they want itit can help wash it down.

We're struggling with meal times here, it seems to be at dinner that lo will end up gagging and being sick, we've just had some cheese on toast, he was doing really well, chewing and then one nibble and he's throwing up. Sometimes I think it's because he's had enough and other times I don't believe he's chewing enough. But what do I do? Will he grow out of it?Newly Married, not a 2b anymore!! Mum to two wonderful boys!0

I really don't know what I'd do without this thread. Thank you all for your replies xxx my OH has gone away with work today just when I really need help but thankfully my older brother stepped in and picked up a gro bag for lo as he's outgrown his and then took him for 2hrs while I got some jobs done. Apparently although still off his food he was good as gold and happy so that's better. I've been using calpol gel and then switched to Parsons powder but lo tosses his head back and won't let me give them to him. I'm praying for a tooth to come. I know it's pathetic but I feel really anxious as he's just not himself. I'll try the refrigerated cucumber sticks though! Benice hugs with the kitchen.. hope it gets sorted soon xx0
