MrsH, big hugs. Sounds like you need a good nights sleep. It will come soon enough, I promise. You may well be able to get a bit of perspective over what will work better for you.

WOAD we're incredibly dribbly (just behind you, nearly 5 months)... I think we're teething too, he's aways been quite dribbly but recently it's ridiculous. We use Moby wraps and he just soaks through them (making us look wonderful)... his bib... his top... vest... everything. he also chews his bibs. Unfortunately no good news in that I've solved the problem - just a show that you're not alone!
We've also gone through the 3-6m quicker than I hoped, we're only 9th percentile for weight but his dungarees today were hard to button and the ankles were nearly at his calves, he's definitely a lean long baby!
On the savings front we went junior ISA @ 6% and regular saver at 6% and saving a bit into both at a time. I think both are his own and he gets them when he's 18. My thoughts are that he won't explicitly be told about them but when he gets them they are his to do what he wishes with... and after that he finds his own way. So if he's a douche he has nothing, if he's not he should be OK.0 -
Re the clothes- we always expected baby to be long/ talk as hubby's family is exceptionally tall, hubby is 6ft8. Baby is too long for most if his 0-3 month sleep suits at six weeks! Clothes without the feet will last a bit longer! Thankfully we have lots of second hand so it's not breaking the bank to abandon the smaller sizes already!
For savings, I think we'll be opening savings in our name but reserved only for baby. That way we can use it for special purchases as needed at our discretion. I'm lucky my parents are savers who had decent incomes. There has never been big money handouts eg on special birthdays, but parents have contributed when they chose eg a contribution to the deposit for our flat, paying towards our wedding, buying baby's cot... I like this style of saving/ giving for kids. At the moment priority for us is mortgage payments/ saving to move from our flat to a house which will ultimately benefit us all as a family.fran-o0 -
I have accounts in the childrens own names for birthday/Xmas money etc but have just opened a family ISA in my name to put into for them. Haven't decided when I will give them the money, as I wouldn't want it blown on nothing! Suppose it depends how good they are with money!!0

Hey hey
hope everyone is well. Have to say we're missing all the sunshine!
Little miss is enjoying her 2 afternoons at nursery now, and I took her on the bus today without the buggy and she was pretty goodheld my hand all the time.
if anyone likes that sort of thing, joe browns have got some real bargains at the moment, I've just been naughty and ordered a really nice crochet jumper that was reduced from £35 to £9.95 :jMum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

Morning ladies, hope everyone had a good night
MrsH, hope you're feeling a bit better about everything x
LO and I just made smoothies for breakfast - it's starting to become a bit of a Saturday tradition. Her tasks are to put the berries/fruit in the blender and press the 'on' button - she loves itToday's flavour was mango, apple and raspberry; she said 'nice!' after every sip!
We had crumpets with our smoothies, and she couldn't quite figure them out. 'Toast?! Cracker?! Toast! Cracker!'. When she tried to say 'crumpet' it sounded more like 'carpet', but she did her best :rotfl:
Have a good day all x0 -
You're far too organised Nutella  A is shovelling in toast and I'm attempting to make it through my first coffee ATM
Got to go food shopping today, which sucks, I usually go Friday evening but my OH was away for work and wasn't back until late last night so I had no one to watch A while I went and I do not take him
No other plans this weekend but looks like it's gonna be a nice dayThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -

My LO likes standing on a chair in the kitchen and 'helping', and although she never enjoys waiting for her food, she's a lot more patient when she can see what's happening and/or when she's able to 'help'. Smoothies are great for this - berries from the freezer, milk/juice from the fridge and some chopped up kiwi/banana/mango/apple from the fruit bowl
She also 'helps' me make coffee - unlike OH, she knows how to work the Nespresso machine!
Boo to food shopping, but enjoy the sunshine!Sunny here too, but windy and cold - I hope it warms up a bit by the afternoon. LO wants to go outside with the 'baby' (doll in a toy pram), but it's 7 degrees and I really don't fancy it!
