Well a very good day to you all! I made it - I am on the boat!
It was an easy enough journey I must say, taxi was on time and £20 cheaper than I anticipated. Train journey was interrupted only by HRH Dorothy mewing the entire way. Guess she doesn't like her box then. Ferry transition should have been another little train and then a bus but I didn't have the heart to put Mog through that so bought a taxi - £15 well spent.
Onboard the kennel facilities are meagre to say the least but the cage is big and I put her in a top one. Blanket, cushion, Mr Duck, some balls, a mini litter tray with litter, two bowls for water and biscuits and extra puppy training pads incase she has an accident in her carry cage..
Pampered moggy.
I ate breakfast and am feeling ok. I usually have issues with boats... I will be going for a nap VERY soon though but wanted to update you all on my progress.
Wifi is sketchy and slow so forgive me if I don't look at all your posts today - and Granny has none so I will be back to the stone age tonight in Belfast...:)
It's also payday today. I have checked my Travel account and although am owed £116 from the airline (Still!?!) I am now sitting pretty at £10,196.
I am still awaiting 1 week of annual leave that I am to be paid for which makes me think is around £400 and tax rebate around £500 minimum - AND hopefully some money back from my motorbike insurance company of about £100 but that might be wishful thinking.
SO hopefully we end with a nice £11k. I will be happy with that!
Right nap time for me...“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Lovely ready this Kat
I know you got home safely and Mog has had you on the runaround, but lovely to hear how much money you managed to stash away.
Please make the first blog post a snapshot back at you in October 2012. Where you were then and where you are now is such an incredible achievement. It will make a brilliant read for those not familiar!!
Picturing you sitting with your feet up by a fire right now...xx

Hello Chickadees...
Well it's been a little while since I updated you with my antics. I am currently sat in a little cafe in my home town - the place is empty apart from me, my cup of chai and free wifi! **snigger**
Can't believe it's been over a week since I have been home - the time has FLOWN by! I have been relaxing with the family but am starting to feel the pressure of making sure I have EVERYTHING together.
I just spent £70 in boots on essentials. As you do. I want to make sure I have the basics with me for most eventualities - was almost tempted by a dental kit but put it back - need to get out of the head that I am prepping for the apocalypse! :rotfl:. I have picked up plasters, immodium (:rotfl:), new tweezers as I lost mine in the move, a few face things for here and now, and hey presto I am £70 down.
Moggy cost me £50 the other day. Litter, plus tray, plus food and mini-scratching post to save Mumsy's carpet cause she is clearly not going outside for too long - it is FREEZING over here. Not sure about you lot over there but I am out in a jumper, fleece, padded North Face gillet and scarf.Suppose it doesn't help being in ballet flats with no socks.....
Severe weather warning over here for tonight. I love a good storm I do.
Found the ultimate travel diary. Not a word about travel written on it cause that's a wee bit sad however I can't travel without something to write on. So it's a paper blanks silver filigree - check it out if you want.
Might go through the items I will be carrying with me and making sure I have enough. Hang on.. just need to find a paper bag. Starting to hyperventilate......***breath***...
More laters.... x x x“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. This is very true Lilt. I will be writing for the wiser audience who are unfamiliar with me and my little story. I think it's vital people realise what goes into truly transforming your life and getting what you want.
I kinda want to make everyone realise it is possible to get what you want through a little hard graft.
And whats scaring me more is finding a nice picture to add to the equation - time to come out and show my face!:p:p
Fire is roaring everyday over here it's great!!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Ok confessions - I have £176 worth of gear in my Amazon basket. My theory is this - I am protecting the expensive items I am carrying, ensuring I have good items that will last and mean I only need a few...
This includes a rugged water-resistant case for the Macbook, smart wool socks, icebreaker knickers x 2, icebreaker bra (of which it along with the bottoms will be used as a bikini), rugged case for my external hard drive - they account for the most bulk of that money then there is a retractable cable lock which is more of a deterrent (possibly getting deleted), a point-it language book, , travel sickness tablets ( hahahahaaaaa )...
There...glad I got that off my chest.“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0 -
Just contacted the lovely people at https://www.the-easylock.com to see if I could get hold of one of their locks before I leave as they are only available from the 31st October....**fingers crossed**..
EDIT; Already got a response from the owner who said he will get a pre-production model in the post for me. RESULT. Look out for a complete review on the new blog! Whoop!!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Hi Kat, I am another long time lurker, having silently cheered you along through debt busting and saving. As an old lady of bus pass age, who has only done any travelling in the last 10 years or so (and then rather mollycoddled escorted stuff) I would love to follow you through your new chapter in life if you will have me:)

MaddieMay there is always room for one more... I think it's very admirable that you are travelling at all so I wouldn't worry about how you are doing it! Love the easy lock!! What a super clever idea! And how lovely of them to put you one in the post. Definitely worth a blog post indeed
I hope it works as well as the description/how to!!
Glad you will be incorporating your entire journey in to the blog Kat. Yes it will definitely make people think, and possibly realise what they can achieve if they put their minds to it. Whilst I am not in the same league as you, at any stage of your journey, you are a shining beacon pushing me to do the best I can with my circumstances
As for the big reveal, best start putting all that boots stuff to good use :rotfl:
xx
