Haha! Umm I am a little bit to be honest but I intend on sitting for a while at home and constructing blogs that should keep you all amused until I am on the road... or something like that...hahaha!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0

There's no point in being worried about it Kat. We all just want to know you're having a good time on your travels. For example, I'd be happy to see:Today, I have been out. Met all the people and did all the things.
Woot!:p

Hi NSK :j Yes I have an OH and a little one. We took out a loan to dothe house up (the interest charged was paid for by renting out our flat monthsearlier than we could’ve done otherwise) so once that’s done we’ll think of ournext plan – getting rid of the mortgage, buying another rental, taking sometime off and doing mini-NSK-inspired-travels (if only we didn’t haveschool-holiday restrictions!!) – there are too many options! The debt will begone in summer 2016 so we have plenty of time to plan and see where life takesusNinjaSavingKat wrote: »Thank you for saying you are in awe - sometimes I think it might not be enough or perhaps there have been so many other people before me that have done the same it might not be that fascinating
You've inspired far too many people for it to "not be enough"!
Sholly x0 -
NSK that was said with my tongue firmly in my cheek! As Peaty said, we are all just excited to see that you are off!! You could post a map with little cat pictures on it of all the places you are going to and I would be happy!
You've so far done 2 diaries on here, and multiple challenges that people come back for month after month. I think you're a good enough writer to keep us entertained just with what is going on in your head and life, without thinking of how to post it prettily enough!!
Sholly... Wow brilliant stuff on the rental and your future plans. Someone else who is inspiring. I can't afford to buy my own house these days, let alone a rental on top!

Kat here's another one who would like to keep up with your travels, you have helped me more than you will know

Sorry to intrude, but tax is what I do for a living so I thought I could offer some assistance (and hopefully good news).
Basically, when you get your P45 - look at your Gross Pay, subtract £10,000 from that, and multiply what is left by 20% (I'm guessing from figures you've mentioned earlier in the thread that you're in the 20% bracket)
Whatever figure you get, is your tax liability for the year - so basically the difference between this, and the tax you've paid so far, is what you will get as a refund.
Another way of working it, is by saying if your final pay and P45 is dated September, then this is Month 6 of the Tax Year - therefore you still have £5k of your allowance unused as you only gain 1/12th of this each month.
£5k x 20% is £1000, so this is what you should get back :T
Hope that helps, been lurking in the thread recently and am both in awe of what you've saved and jealous of your upcoming travelling :rotfl:I am a full time Benefit and Money Adviser for a leading non profit charity and I LOVE my job
