Hi Buffy, hope fluey feeling has not developed into fluey thing
and that you feel better soon.
Agreeing with the other posts, I would tend to hang onto savings to have as emergency fund, there's nothing worse that living in dread of something happening that you haven't planned for (speaking from first hand experience!!):)

I'd pay the debt off - one less thing to worry about.
Pop the credit card in a drawer somewhere and that's your emergency back up fund until you've had time to save.
Set a goal for a new laptop - would people chip in towards Chrstimas? Could you aim to sell some bits to kick start the savings?
Sometimes it's all the niggly things that add up to stress - mentally ticking off the "debt free" bit on your list will make you feel good and be one less thing to worry about.

Evening. not been around due to work, which is.......................................................................well it is ok cos it doesn't actually matter.
However the tiny part of me that is not a cynic spends most of the day saying things like, you are !!!!!!!! me, What a shambles, or can they really do that. This is a right bloody mess etc etc.
Luckily the big cynical part of me just goes.......think of the money enjoy the lessons. Which I do.
I could say with certainty that I won't be staying.
With this in mind I am going to leave the debt as is as it is entirely possible I won't stay and I want the cushion.
In other news am shattered and still have to work. grrrrr.

Had the worst day at work. Like not the worst day ever but a true show of what !!!!!! job teaching can be.
It isn't like that every day and I do enjoy my lessons with the younger kids. It is also largely unimportant for the most part. Am not under anything like the pressure my colleagues are. It is slightly like watching a car accident or a battle. There have been aspects I have genuinely found distressing. However this is always going to be true of me. I am a huge bloody softie.
I have better days when I keep out of it all and focus on my teaching. So I think for now that is what I will do. My life is much more out of school then in school now.
I will say one thing about today tho, first time in a long time I have come home and wanted to go to the arms of a man I love.
Money news, NSD yesterday, may have one today as well.
savings..........
2000 in ISA
1100 in emergency
fund
also have 340 for car (ins due in Jan)
302 for Christmas
300 for puppies.
60 for clothes.
which is about 4100
admittedly some of that is obviously ear marked for things but I am very chuffed. MOST money that I have had EVER.
I shall probably move some of it to the CC to lower the debt. But not all of it.Nevertheless she persisted.0 -
Hi Buffy sorry it was such an awful day - is it all politics or something else? Keep focussing on the lessons you enjoy and see it as a means to an end.
Well done on having a healthy emergency fund...... :T
Enjoy the rest of your weekend xxFeb2014 Total unsecured debt £72,520>>01/06/16 £68166>01/02/17 £66,600=8.18%PAID

Yes, it is a definite means to an end. By the end of this academic year I should be out of debt and have a decent amount of savings.
Although I often feel like I am rearranging deckchairs on the Titanic things are a lot better.
And they can get better so long as I keep doing stuff. I need to mark my books. I need to de-clutter my room and sort out the fish tanks.
I need to crack on.
