Really honestly do not want to be a wet blanket here. Please check the paperwork and make sure you are due the refund. They are making a lot of mistakes recently and I would hate for you to get caught up in one. This in effect means save it don't spend it just in case (which is basically what you said you would be doing)0

Excellent point. I shall keep my eye on it, I know I did pay basic rate tax for a while but you never know.
cheers :)XX
I made myself laugh today. So......originally when I put on weight I was curvy, sexy even.
Since breaking up with the last guy I seem to have made it a mission to put on weight.
I looked at myself today and decided I am square. Literally. Square now. this made me laugh in the ladies toilet at work!
I am not curvy and all my clothes are uncomfortable and do not fit.
something radical needs to be done.
Still "square" made me laugh.Nevertheless she persisted.0 -
Thank You Buffy! Just back from school run and sat down with cuppa for probably but only DFW diary entry today (Oh at home today and this is my secret
) Am :rotfl:and smiling ear to ear so what a lovely feeling to start the day with and all because you are "square"..........!!!!!
Sorry not being rude at all as I think, well, KNOW I am pretty square myself:D
It just brought back a lovely memory....
I hadn't seen some of my University friends for several years. One of my closest friends was getting married to another friend from the same university, so it turned out to be a bit of a reunion. When my lovely friend, the bride, came up to greet me after the ceremony, she gave me a big hug and then said " You're looking ...er.....well...gosh it's been so long.....etc" but there was that distinct hesitation before the word ."...well" and she struggled to find the right words and then moved on quickly to other topics. So I let her dig herself into a hole. Then another of our close friends came up to me , and we had a similar conversation and he Struggled to find the words to tell me how "well" I looked. Then finally a few drinks later, he finally plucked up the courage to say " So I guess you still like your cheese on toast then, I mean, you're looking very square" and the bride was horrified, " xxxx Don't be so rude, that's a horrid thing to say, he doesn't mean it..." She couldn't understand why I was taking it all so calmly.
Then I finally let the cat out of the bag - I WAS eating lots, in fact enough for 2! I was about 4 months pregnant and had lost my waist (squared out) but DD was not big enough to be a bump yet!
So your "squareness" brought that conversation back so vividly.
I did sort of recover from that bout of squareness, but then suffered from it again to produce DS, but its the most recent bout of squareness that seems to have taken root :Dand is refusing to budge.
From one square to another, hope your day shapes up nicely

Good news re tax rebate - did you fill in self assessment or did it just come out of the blue? You must have overpaid tax at some stage.
De-square and become a rectangle! Good luck with that!
Hope you get to relax tonight AND hope your mum is ok.
