It's not indulgent at all to buy stuff you need....the beauty of this place is knowing that you have the knowledge and the tools to search for the best prices for the things you need.

I brought a kar-cher window vac earlier in the week - really frivolous for some people but a real bonus for me - not only does it save my time in cleaning the windows and mirrors, it saves my hands (I've got carpel tunnel and can't afford for it to flare up with the work I do) and I can use it for work to clean the glass in my frames! It also sucks up all the condensation on the windows so will keep my house healthier........I can justify anything :)

I made sure I used @mazon vouchers I'd earnt and got the best price I could.....cos that made it ok!

Have you done any research into laptops, DH would be happy to advise you - cos he's a techy nerd.

I don't think you are being self- indulgent. You are spending some of your hard earned income on something that gives you pleasure. You aren't ignoring your debts and have plans to cover what is needed. Enjoy.

    Good luck with the marking.

    Hey Buffy :)
Laptop for work and keeping on top of things is not self indulgent! Pets are expensive but are part of your life and probably help keep you sane!

Just catching up with you Buffy :) Don't feel guilty about the spends - at least you bought something you need and not 10 pairs of shoes or something similar. It's your money you work hard for it. I always feel a bit guilty when I spend money on another holiday when it could be used to clear debt or do something to the house, then I think back to last year and I know I've done the right thing.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • I am feeling deeply unhappy today.

think it is the weather change. Strange times at work and extreme tiredness.

    Irrationally annoyed. Tired.

I did wonder if it is SAD as it has been the last few weeks and I miss the sunshine.

My friend has a new b/f and my other friend is pregnant.

I just have nothing no patience. no time. no energy. no real reason to get up. well I do, but if you ve had depression you know what I mean.

any how hopefully this is a phase, although I had felt it build for a while now.

  • I know it's hard but remember that depression passes.

You know it is freaky but I was just thinking exactly that.

I read my book this morning

I am aware I am ruminating over things and hours will go by and I might have been marking or what ever but I will have been thinking about life quite negatively.

I cancelled my night out tonight. Am too tired. well no, I am actually depressed but as INOD said it will pass.

    It will.

In other news I really fancy the bloke who plays Barbie in The Dome.

I shall have a nap this afternoon and go from there.
