All I am going to say is that home ownership is not the be all & end all.
I often wish I rented so someone else had to maintain.
This is a valid point Beanie, I guess because I rent but also maintain the property I haven't had the benefit of just ringing someone. Tho I do remember that from when I did rent.
I am also thinking about my pension and my old age.........Jesus Christ how depressing.

Sometimes I think you're better off renting, no maintenance to pay out for plus you can move whenever you want.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

Buffy you need to speak to a solicitor. I know Scotland has its own laws but in NI, anyone over 18 living in a property has a claim on it. Whenever we remortgaged, as both my children were over 18, they had to forego their rights before things could progress. It may take the wind from your sister's sails a bit.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. wow. really?
Ok.......yeah. I suppose it is the grown up thing to do.
I did get a recommendation for one from a friend but she then referred me to someone else and I gave up.
There must be someone in the high street!

Just phone a couple and see if they do a free half hour thingy - pop along and have a chat and you'll know instantly if you like them/trust them.
Don't rule renting out - it could be the first step to something wonderful.
And pensions - you'll still worry about it if you buy a house so don't use that as an excuse.

There are times when you have to put yourself first, even if it ruffles a few feathers and this is one of them. Find as much advise as you can, consider all possibilities and then make your decision on what is right for you. Don't leave it and look back and think what if.xx
By the way gave this advise to one of my neighbours at the beginning of the year and he is now living in rural france and loving it, something he has always wanted to do.x:j Debtfree and and staying that way.:j3-6 month emergency fund, No.61 £140.000 -
The decluttering continues, there is light at the end of the tunnel, and although I am cutting it a bit fine with going back to work I am ok with that, it is worth it. I can see rooms coming back from the mess.
It has been a !!!! summer to be honest but am ok with that too. I think I am looking forward to the routine of work.
Moneywise,
Regular saving = 750
ISA = 2750
current account = 75but got paid, so things are sort of balanced.
I bought 70 quid's worth of clothes and used the holiday money for it, I am going to be skint this month as have spent a whack on Amazon (!) and Zooplus ......If I had kids they would be over flowing with toys, the rabbits have a cat tree........
http://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/cats/scratching_posts/small/small_cat_trees_height_60_cm/37578
I wanted the green one but it would have stood out too much in my room.........
That said I can borrow out of the regular savings as they aren't earmarked for anything and are there to stop me running up debt, I need to get shopping and petrol, no birthdays and no nights out planned. It is going to be hard without my second job but am much less stressed at the thought of going back to work - plus I should have a little bit extra in my pay packet. Once I see that at the end of Sept I many do what I did years ago and have my spending money in a different account.
Although I haven't seen anyone for a couple of weeks I am ok, this sorting and being with Mum has opened my eyes to loads.
