mate booked wrong train tickets and has cost me 30 quid. Which in my world is a week's groceries but in hers is a daily trip to waitrose.
Fill in a form to see if you can get them refunded? You usually can if they haven't been used minus admin fee...

I suggested that Kb, my friend isn't bothered at all. She ignored me for most of yesterday till I apologised for not realised she had so much on.
She has pots of cash! and literally doesn't look at things the same way I/we (?) do.
Hey Ho. I rather think this will be the last year as we barely see each other and have such different views.Nevertheless she persisted.0 -
Hope you enjoy the trip though Buffy despite everything. A few days break will do you good.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

Do you it's worth looking on the ticket provider's website and getting hold of your ticket to see if you can get your money back at least? I think it's a total waste of money, and why should you have to pay for someone else's mistake if there is a chance of getting a refund?

Write the train ticket off to "one of those things" - if it's opened your eyes to a friendship that's going a bit off kilter then maybe it was £30 well spent to save more being lost in the future?

I agree Pooky
I try with people I once liked a lot but sometimes if they aren't going to change or have changed so much that we lack a connection it is time to go. I do love her and wish I could help her but her world view is such that she doesn't have any problems/needs/wants and just works hard. but has no hope and so little matters. I don't know.
SO I had my hair done. it looks WICKED! I can't technically afford it but really it looks so good!
I spent sometime with my new friends from work on Thursday and it was so much fun. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. AND I drove to a new and therefore scary place and I drove my friend home.
I am also the proud owner of a mac in a sac.
don't ask!
I have borrowed money out of the savings (and just realised I didn't borrow enough) to cover everything but at least I can do this. Much better than ten years ago borrowing from the Credit card!!

WOO HOO!
It turns out my friend did book the cheapest tickets!
It is definitely a lesson in train tickets being ridiculous! She has booked some kind of super advance youcanonlygetonthistrainonpainofdeath style ticket. I assumed cos I was so late in replying to her mine was booked on it's own so the total was the total I had to pay! (and she just gave the total)
I can't say PHEW loudly enough. tickets only 15 quid. Feel terrible about being so annoyed with her! Sorry friend! really (but you do still have a completely different attitude about money, am not totally nuts)
I have to say I never book that type even tho it is cheaper cos it is such a do or die thing to get on the train. I like options! However I do now have spending money!!
Am still dubious about the holiday and more excited about the Purge in August, really looking forward to that. Although I have been reading about the effects of "Kon Maring" apparently they can be physical- throwing up and stuff! so ermm. yeah.
any how. Can I say again how relieved I am!

Hi Buffy, I read your diary quietly - we have a lot in common!
I've started Konmari-ing, and can say, as of yet, no physical reactions. I don't follow everything ruthlessly, but the method does open your eyes to what you find important and removes a lot of the guilt I felt about keeping things that had been given to me. I really recommend reading her book. Good luck with the purge!
