I went skiing the day after bfp. Not the best timing but i agree with fallen archer that if you stick within pre-pregnancy boundaries and don't decide now really is the time to start that ironman training you should be fine.... There are a lot of non-evidence based do's and don'ts for pregnancy which gets on my nerves a fair bit. Trying to get to the bottom of it can be a real chore. Think that's why I loved the emily oster book- she did all the hard work!
I've never swam regularly... Seems like hard work. When I used to go when I was younger I just found it made me ravenous so who knows what I'll be like when I start! Will prob end up backstroking with a pack of jaffa cakes in one hand... Definitely need to do something though. My diet has gone terrible, i've stopped exercising and I feel like jabba the hut- just all wobbly. I don't want to gain weight that isn't good for baby- would rather just gain baby weight! Must sort self out!
I don't know if there are any lurkers on here from the other threads- or if anyone on here can help? I really need a better bra before my boobs end up by my knees. I was a 34f before and they're definitely bigger now. Does anyone have a recommendation for a decent bra that will support, be comfy and preferably look nice? Had a look in m&s today and the two mat bras they had were hideous...0 -
Just delurking re exercise-I'm sure I read that the issue with some exercise, such as cycling, is the balance and the impact on your changing centre of gravity-cycling itself is okay, but the potential for falls is increased the bigger your bump gets.
TACOD-I was fitted for an EmmaJane bra, got a couple of black and a couple of white which are both still fitting, I would recommend a proper fitting from a specialist rather than a chain if possible, especially as you are quite busty. I was a 30/32 F to start with0 -
De-lurking re cycling...I found out I was pregnant with my first just before going for a 3 week cycling holiday in Spain in July/August! My midwife friend assured me that it was perfectly ok to go, and I did - we cycled about 25 miles most days, so that was from 6 weeks to 9 weeks pregnant. The only problem I had was occasional tiredness around lunchtime. I gave up cycling at around 18 weeks as my centre of gravity had changed, affecting my balance and steering, but before about 14 weeks I'd be amazed if anyone's bump is big enough to cause a problem. My midwife friend advised me thus about exercise and sport: if you'd normally do it, carry on doing it until the baby is of a size to make it difficult.

I am a 34G to begin with and they are not changing TOO much yet, though I have bought one new bra in a size bigger, just a style I already own that I know is nice.
Are you asking for recommendations for bras in general or maternity bras? I don't think we have to wear maternity bras yet. I heard as long as bras fit properly and underwire is not pressing on breast tissue it is fine. Anyway, I presume you know of bravissimo? It is where get all my brasif you are after soft cup bras, they do have some that look nice like this http://www.bravissimo.com/products/lingerie/soft-cup-bras/sophie-soft-cup-bra/candypink/pnm1cp/?level=1 (it also comes as a nursing bra).
I just got miserable noticing all the pretty new styles of bras on their website and realising there is no point in me buying anything as my shape is only going to change and then after that I will need horrid nursing bras! Boo! Are my days of lovely lingerie over?0 -
Hello...I'm back again !! After 3 miscarriages, 2 at 6-7 weeks and 1 at 12 weeks ... I'm 6+2 today ..
yesterday I had some brown spotting and today it went red so was sent for an early scan we saw the heart beat and the lady said it was implantation bleeding but because of my history they will scan again in two weeks. I have a dull ache in my tummy but when I was being scanned she said I was totally full of wind so I'm trying to keep positive but also not get my hopes up ...
Has anyone else been in my situation ?0 -
I also heard Bravissimo is the best for bras. They measure you differently from M&S and are supposedly a superior fit!!
Just back from my scan, honestly blown away. Neither of us can believe it. It was basically just a little blob with a heartbeat but oh my days it means the world to have that proof that we finally, finally have a real solid chance of having our own baby. Absolutely over the moon!
Due date pushed back to 13/10
Regarding One Born Every Minute - I cannot bring myself to watch this. Far too terrifying!0 -
NHS guidance online says you can carry on exercising as you normally would - but don't be taking up anything new.
An excuse for me to be lazy for next seven months0 -
Hi Tooold... hope this one is a sticky bean for you x0

Any sort of bra will do- just want it to keep my boobs where they're supposed to be, not make me look like i'm 90 and be comfy/supportive. Pre-bfp i always wore a strapless wonderbra (the ones with the 'hands' instead of underwire which i loved as i hate bra straps because i've always found they've dug in and hurt. Tried to wear it today and ended up braless in work from 3pm as the pain was horrendous! Bruised all round my ribcage...
will go to town and try bravissimo i reckon. Ta ladies.
Tooold, no experince of what you've been through but I hope this time it's a sticky one.
Wtdn, so glad you had a great scan. Enjoy it- you've earnt it.0
