  • Hi ladies,
I thought I might join you. I'm currently 8 weeks pregnant and after some bleeding and a scan discovered I'm expecting twins! It was a massive shock especially as I've got a 17 and 16 year old and 21 month old.

I've still got some spotting and I've been sick with hyperemesis
for the last 4 weeks and already have my first hospital admission under my belt so I'm just desperate to get better but with my youngest I threw up until the day she was born so not holding out much hope :(

Anyway sorry for the waffle it's good to join you all.

My colleague at work has suffered right through her pregnancy with hyperemesis, constipation etc and she said she hopes I suffer from it too haha, in a loving way!!

A couple of my symptoms have decreased in the last couple of days so I'm trying to tell myself that it's just my body getting used to the hormones etc. my boobs don't feel as sore, i dont feel as sick, and my belly feels normal whereas before I felt like things were going on in there. No bleeding though so I'm hanging onto that.

Got my gp appointment in an hour and then I hope I can book my scan! I think I'm 9 weeks now.

Well it's taken me a week to realise there was a new thread 😜
Hope all are ok, I've started to feel better and have my appetite back so only the tiredness to contend with, you'd think this would be good news but instead it's got me thinking there is something wrong as I read of terrible sickness and sore boobs too and I've not had that, felt sick but not actually been sick at all. Somebody please tell me they've had the same. I'm 9 weeks today xxx

Just popping over as was being nosey at who was on here! Thought would put your mind hopefully at rest Lizzie. I had 'symptoms' on and off and was terrified for about 2 months straight. I'm 38 weeks tomorrow x

  • Congratulations Wangdoodle really pleased for you!

    How's everyone else?

Most people know in my work now as had to take a few days off work due to bad sickness. I'm a nurse so it's difficult to hide! I'm finally starting to feel better and all my symptoms seem to be dropping now but trying not to panic. I know every pregnancy is different! I'm 10 weeks today and have a scan next week!

    Hope everyone's well.

It's reassuring to read that Jemb, thanks. I'm just gonna try to relax, not in any pain (apart from feeling like iv done a thousand sit ups) and no bleeding so surely should be ok xxx
  • I am truely shocked.

Despite my history of miscarriage, the medication I am taking as recommended by the miscarriage clinic, and the fact I have had pain and bleeding, my midwife couldn't (wouldn't) refer me for an early scan. In fact, she encouraged me to book privately saying lots of women need that reassurance. I am sure they do, but surely I am presenting with enough risk history.

So, I am waiting for the private clinic to ring me back, they are fully booked but trying to squeeze me in somewhere.

I am not really sure she was listening to me anyway, she was more concerned witht the fact she was running late, and I had only been booked a half hour appointment instead of the hour I should have been. I did try to explain that may have been because the GP wanted me seen early and the receptionist had squeezed me in, in fact I couldn't take the appointment at 6 weeks because I was away. She said 7 weeks isn't really very early for a booking in appointment as they usually do them 8-10 weeks.

    And that was that.

Thankfully, I am booked in with the other midwife (who I know from previous pregnancies and miscarriages) next time as the one today is on leave and I going to ask if I can switch over to her care.
  • Reassurance scan booked privately this evening. They couldn't fit me in for another week, but when I explained the problem, she agreed to squeeze me in at the end of the appointment list. and it's £60, but if I want another one in a few weeks- I probably will I am quite paranoid- I will get a 10% discount.
