Ah, thanks for the support guys (gals!).

Phew, I've taken a few deep breaths and have calmed down a bit (sorry for getting in a tiz).

I don't have my booking in appointment until Thursday, and assuming everything is alright until then, I'll have a chat with her and see what she says. The EPAU needs a GP referral and I doubt I'll be able to get an appointment before then.

Thanks VickyVics, Lara44 & cllola; it's always nice to hear other people's experience.

And thanks Wangdoodle, naomijj and Gelly123...it's such a relief to have people to talk to about it!

Ah that's good news Derby and thanks to the ladies that de-lurked to offer their experiences, it must be much more reassuring.

I have to admit, if I didn't have you guys to talk to, I think I'd go nuts!! I'm not a prolific poster but I do read often.

AFM, I'm 7 weeks today so only got to wait until next Weds for my booking in appt with the MW and then a scan the following day -cant wait.

Has anybody else really felt like they've expanded around 7 weeks - my trousers are noticeably tighter and by the end of the day, I have a definite bump which wasn't there in the morning but I guess that could just be wind ;o) which is rather embarassing!

Today is really dragging for me - can't wait to get home tonight and out of my work clothes, really uncomfortable and sat here with the top trouser button undone - eeek!

  • I am 7+ 2 today, I am still getting all sorts of cramps and pains, and last night when I had a wee before bed there was a pink smear when
    i wiped (sorry if tmi!).

I have my midwife appointment on wednesday, when I can get referred to EPU for a scan.

    This is really dragging....

On the plus side, I have started feeling queasy, really tired and my boobs are sooooo sore, so I am trying to look on the positive side.

(although when I had a mmc in the past, I had quite bad nausea long after it happened so I am not reassured much).

can i ask for your opinions on hair dye?
i am due to get mine done tonight - I have checked the nhs website & they dont advise against it but dont say its 100% harmless either.
    I'm 8 weeks today.

Good question Credit - I'm looking for an answer too as I'm due to have hair cut and highlighted just before my birthday in mid Feb but don't really want to tell our hairdresser who is our immediate neighbour - as we want to tell everybody on my birthday (if I can hide it that long)!

Looking forward to hearing replies on this one....

On a different subject, just seen the air ambulance land at the back of our house on the field - they are currently working on one of our neighbours out in the street in front of their house before they pop them into the helicopter - poor things, you can't help but count your blessings at times like this

I asked my midwife about dying my hair at my booking in appointment and she said it was 100% ok!

  • When I went to get my eye lashes tinted when I was pregnant previously, they insisted I have another patch test carried as apparently pregnancy can increase sensitivity. That might be worth considering for hair dye too?

    Hi ladies

Just wanted to send hugs to Derby, I hope your feeling ok now and it's just symptoms coming and going, I too am a cervix checker (left over habit from ttc) and mine seems a little more open than it was but it's also (tmi sorry) feeling like its softening and spreading a little so I'm just assuming it has to do with that general change x

Hope your doing ok any name and haven't seen any more pink x

Sorry I can't help with the hair dye questions but I'm sure I saw somewhere that highlights were ok as they don't touch the scalp? Hope that makes sense!

AFM I had my booking in appointment today with my community midwife and a student midwife and they were both absolutely wonderful, she even managed to turn a past episode of depression into a positive as I would know the signs to watch out for and when I needed help. Also had my flu jab at the same time to get it out of the way. Just waiting for my scan appointment through the post now, its all starting to seem a bit real eek

    hugs to all x
  • Hi all

Derby, with my boy my symptoms disappeared from 9 weeks but I was so ill with my daughter I think just every pregnancy different, hope you're feeling better!

Gelly, I barely fit into any of my trousers and by the end of the day look about 5 months pregnant, joy of the third I think!

Any name, hope things have settled down and no more pink.

Credit crunch, I'd check with your hairdresser, unless DIY job, or maybe do a little patch test, my hairdressers always said its fine to dye (thank goodness!)

We had a private scan on Sunday, mainly to check there wasn't two in there as was getting really anxious! Just one little blob with a heartbeat, made it all a bit more real! Just slight problem with telling my hand surgeon now in a couple of weeks and praying he'll agree to operate just with a local anaesthetic!

    Hugs to all
  • Evening ladies.

Just popping in to say we had our scan this morning.

I was so terrified going in, I really thought they weren't going to find a baby or that there'd be something wrong. Thankfully everything looked normal and baby was super wriggly. The sonographer was nice and gave us six pictures even though we only paid for three.

I've been put back a day from where I thought I was (3 days from the date midwife gave me based on LMP) so we're now due 19 July.

It's just such a refief to have seen our baby moving around.

Hope everyone else is doing alright. How are you Derby? Good luck for your booking appointment.

I'm afraid I don't really know about hair dye. I haven't done mine in over a year  My sister (who is pregnant) has been dying her hair as normal but using semipermanent dye only, so I'm sure that's fine.

I guess I ought to graduate to the next thread now but I'll be keeping an eye on you all and can't wait to see you there :)
