Hey ladies. Congrats and welcome to the new comers. Also great news about the scans
I have a question which I hope someone can help with? I'm getting easily wound up at work and at home and getting irrated with my boyfriend being what I feel is overly affectionate. Is that normal!!? I feel very bad0 -

Definitely normal by how I'm feeling. OH is extremely frisky at the moment but the very thought of being touched, jiggled or moving is enough to make me want to vom/ scream. I thought it was because he feels more 'manly' now he knows his sperm works despite the odds. Maybe it's just a man thing though? Can't say that I feel particularly attractive at the mo anyway between the spots, bloating, nausea and toilet problems but then again- I can't say that i've ever felt happier when feeling so rubbish- regardless of the effect on oh or my libido!
My entire family is getting on my nerves and everytime I finally snap and say something all I get back is 'oooh, someone's hormonal' which makes it about a million times worse as I feel like i'm being perfectly rational and they're all nuts!0 -
I'm back after we all ended up with Norovirus for valentines day. Horrible
I'm still feeling a bit wobbly but able to sit upright, which it an improvement on yesterday. Really fed up with Ben and Holly's Little Kingdom and Peppa Pig. Sticking DS in front of the tv all day was all we were capable of doing yesterday.
Pleased to hear your scan went well Mrs_I.
Hugs to people who are having some spotting, keeping my fingers crossed for you that it's all OK. x0 -
Ladies you will be pleased to know I have calmed down and have decided that this is what my body does when pregnant - pain and spotting. The spotting has tailed off so that makes it easier.
Other than also being tired all the time and hungry, I also have another symptom to report - excess saliva - lovely. Which means I spit occasionally when talking - yuck.
I've also been taking the 'take it easy' advice a bit too much to heart. I'm definitely putting on weight. I need to weigh myself before it goes too far so I have a reference point.
We've been shopping today and bought loads of fruit and veg and veggie meals.Pots: House £6966/£7100, Rainy day Complete, [STRIKE]Sunny day £0/£700[/STRIKE], IVF £2523/£2523, Car up-keep £135/£135, New car £5000/£5000, Holiday £1000/£1000, MFW #16 £2077/£3120

I had to smile at this. There's been a few times I have had an afternoon snooze on the settee recently and woken up to find I have been drooling- nice!0 -
How amazing is hot chocolate?
(no wonder my bottom seems to be growing faster than my belly!)
I am 12 weeks now, just waiting for my scan on thursday then I will have to move to the next thread, which is kind of scary!0 -
Peonie, I think I have gained 3 or 4 lbs in the last month. Terrible - I must get a handle on it! Trouble is I feel nauseous all the time and the only thing that seems to ease it briefly is eating. You hear of people losing weight in the first trimester if they are sick - fat chance of that for me, all I can do is munch!
Half term, thank goodness. I have pretty much spent the weekend in bed. Just feel rubbish....really nauseous constantly (though only actually vomiting once a day or so), upset tummy, and sheer exhaustion. Feel a bit fed up and down. My mum keeps saying to me 'try and remember you are not ill, just pregnant'....she is trying to help but it actually makes it worse as it makes me feel guilty! I know I am not ill but I have felt less ill than I feel right now when I actually have been ill! If that makes any sense... And the worst thing is it is relentless, there is very little that makes it better and there is no end in sight (I know lots of people start to feel better at 12 weeks but there are no guarantees and that still feels like a long way off - not like having a little bug when you know it will go in a few days!)
Sorry, that turned into a bit of a rant! Got our early private scan on Sunday. Can't wait...if we see a heartbeat I think I will relax a bit and maybe start to enjoy it. I know last week I said I was determined to relax and enjoy it...I have been doing a bit better, I have stopped doing tests for one! But I wouldn't say I have succeeded that well...
Hope everyone is doing ok. any name, good luck with your scan on Thursday!0 -
Went to see the GP this morning who was lovely. He didn't seem majorly concerned about the spotting which has now stopped. He said with dark blood it could mean an ectopic pregnancy but the fact I am in no pain means it's unlikely so I'm feeling a lot better.
He's sending me for a scan at the EPU on Wednesday so fingers crossed everything is okay.
Hope everyone else is doing well xx0 -
Afternoon Ladies,
We had our 12 week scan this morning and it was amazing!
We've gained a day so now due 31st August 2014.
Baby was like an acrobat, sonographer hadn't seen such a lively one for ages so we need to go back to get all the measurements for the Nuchal Test, the anti-natal dept are going to phone me later this week with another date to go back within 2 weeks.
Also, I have a bit of a cyst on my ovary but they think it's just a bit of "egg shell" left from the egg leaving my tube and that it'll disintegrate by 20 weeks.
We got some fantastic photos and the midwife/sonographer were brilliant.
Alipops x0 -
Yay alipops! Was this your first scan? How exciting.
And glad things went well LailaP. I wish my doctors would be nice and reassuring, they all seem to have that slightly sad concerned look on their face. Although I think a lot of that is 'sad long term TTC/IVF/Cancer lady' sympathy that I am quite sick of!
First spot of morning sickness today. Just really nauseous, not quite vomiting, and starting to realise that getting to work could be a problem if you do actually have to throw up. I've normally got a cast iron stomach so hopefully I'll be limited to nausea. Never been so pleased to feel so !!!!!0
