    Welcome peppacoin :)

No nosebleeds here (currently at least!), but I remember reading it can be quite common Munchkin!

Expecting this to be the slowest week ever, although I do have a lot to do at work so fingers crossed not, 7 sleeps to scan!
Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

Munchkin I suffered nosebleeds for a good week or so a few weeks back. As Newthrift says it is apparently quite common, though not one I'd really heard of until I started looking it up.

I'm 16 weeks, but yes had a few! Not bad ones, but I'd not had one for years.
  • Popped into the doctors this morning (in order to get a midwife referral). Although I moaned about this unneccessary step, it was actually quite helpful as I got a flu jab and a prescription for something pregnancy-friendly to help get my digestion moving.

    Welcome Peppa!
  • So sorry to hear about all the 'outing' going on - what is wrong with people? I get that a grand-child, niece/nephew etc is exciting - but surely the feelings of the parents should come first!

I experienced a lot of nose bleeds in my first pregnancy - maybe one a week until the birth. It's due to the thinning of blood vessels. It's a real pain in the bum but better than the sickness - that's how I comforted myself anyway. I've just had one very small one so far

I am currently wondered how to hide my lack of drinking at the Xmas party this year. I might have to be the designated driver but I know it will rouse suspicion and the last thing I want is to be asked about it!
  • Peppacoin could you say you're on antibiotics? People generally accept that?
I'm going to say it is affecting my migraines if I drink at the minute. Not that I drink much anyway. Luckily I have to drive on Christmas Day so I'm ok on that one

I had an early scan partly for that reason. I don't think anyone really does buy the antibiotics excuse but also they should be polite enough not to ask you outright. Depending on the set up, you could always buy drinks that look like alcoholic ones - a gin and tonic that's really lemonade. By the time everyone else is drunk, they won't notice.
  • Yeah I'm not sure anyone believes antibiotics as an excuse. I think I'm just going to say I'm driving early on as then no one will nag me to drink as that would be massively irrresponsible when I've already said I have my car with me.

I'm 5 weeks and have a bulge. Must just be bloating I think as way to early for a bump. I am so excited about feeling movements again!
