Less than 12 weeks pregnant club! Part 4!!

Appt went well, just got to await for scan app in the post as i'm not going to the usual hospital they refer to i'm going to my preferred (always one ) Don't think they were over keen at first but when I explained my reasons she could see they were actually quite valid and was fine about it. She has told me it will be before Christmas though, fingers crossed for a brown envelope next week with the date in
Lots of information and booklets to read through now!

I'm not having a very good day - had a accident on my way to work this morning (low speed, drove into the back of someone). Was feeling absolutely shattered last night and this morning, and can't help thinking that the two are related. And surely that's only going to get worse later in pregnancy? Plus, dealing with the insurance carp is the last thing I want to do at the moment...:(

Oh firebird that's rubbish, hope you're not too shaken. Be gentle on yourself, these things happen. My tiredness has improved a lot now- I'm still shattered, but less ready to fall asleep at every second so hopefully yours will improve too

Oh no firebird, be gentle with yourself. It's a shock and annoying to have to sort but as long as your ok metal can be fixed!

Oh no Firebird, don't be too hard on yourself The tiredness does get a bit easier in the second trimester.

Well, we told our daughter last night after a meal out. We gave her a parcel of the tshirt which had the message on it and she looked absolutely stunned for a few seconds, and then launched herself from the sofa to where I was sitting, halfway around the room. OH had to catch her! Then she kept saying "I'm going to be a big sister... I cant believe I'm going to be a big sister... I never thought I'd get to be a big sister..." as she snuggled into my belly.

Then we showed her the scan and she burst into tears and she kept repeating "I'm going to be a big sister", which grew more and more incoherent and rambling. I genuinely thought she'd had some vodka slipped in her drink at the restaurant :rotfl: Especially when she started singing as well!

When she had calmed down slightly, and was lying her head on my legs, with her hand on my belly, my OH walked past, tickled her chin and said 'hello, big sister' and she grinned the biggest grin and then burst into tears again

She cried and laughed and came up with names, and looked at the scan pictures, and said she couldn't wait to meet them for about 2 1/2 hours until *I* needed to go to bed! She sneaked through for a cuddle both last night and this morning to kiss my belly and say goodnight/good morning to my baby.

We've had to warn her not to say one word to anyone though. We explained that we can't tell my parents for another two weeks and we cannot have ANYTHING on social media as imagine how gutted they would be if someone told them they'd seen it on Facebook before wed told them!

Take it easy Firebird, hope you're feeling ok this morning. It can feel like a big shock even if it's only a tiny incident, so as the girls have said, be kind to yourself.

Sweetbabu, what a fab reaction from your daughter! How old is she?

I had my scan yesterday - so far so good - and really amazed at how much detail you could see! My due date has been put forward 6 days, so I'm now 13 weeks - guess I'll head over to the next thread then...

Hope the rest of the first trimester runs smoothly for all of you, especially you girls who are currently having a hard time of it! Fingers crossed for a relaxed and uneventful second trimester xx

Thanks everyone. Really glad it's almost the weekend - I never thought it would be such a struggle to get through a week of work! I've decided that I probably need to start giving things up, as carrying on doing my normal level of activities is clearly not working.

Sweetbabu - that's amazing, and so cute! Hopefully your daughter can manage to keep quiet for those next 2 weeks.

Poddle - glad the scan went well. I can't wait for mine. 11 weeks today, booking appt next Thursday...

Oooh firebird I hope you get your scan quick! You can only have the combined screening up to 14 weeks so they'll only have about 8 days to squeeze you in! Make sure you fight for it x

I will! Always up for a fight for the best for my baby
