Well done on reaching the 12 week mark Cats, hope you get your scan date soon!

I had such an awful headache over the bank holiday weekend! My nose feels really stuffy but feeling a lot better today! Still don't have a massive appetite which is reflecting in my weight, I've lost another 2lbs since I saw the midwife last week!

Counting down the days until our holiday and of course our scan!

    Hope everyone is well xxx

Hi! Hope everyone is well. I am 8weeks 4 days and although we tried for ages I still have “!!!!!! are we doing?!” thoughts. Mainly I’m super excited, but also ridiculously nervous. Just feel convinced that after it all taking so long, something is bound to go wrong now!

I have moments like that too cyantist!

My main worry is money at the moment! Already thinking forward to having to go back to work and how we will afford fulltime childcare etc. Hubby keeps telling me "we'll manage".

I want to be excited but I'm so aware that so much could still go wrong - I'm wishing away the weeks! :rotfl:

Afternoon all! So hubby and I had a big heart to heart over the weekend and he confessed he is really worried about my anxiety and worrying, so I broke down and listed all the millions of things I'm worried about!

Off the back of that we have decided to have a private harmony test and not the NHS combined test (although I will probably still have my scan with NHS as well as harmony one). One "good" thing about ttc for so long is that we actually have way more money saved than we expected so given that we were thinking we'd be paying for IVF soon we decided the cost is worth it to us.

We've also gone full circle and decided that as long as the results are good we're going to find out the gender with them! OH thinks it might make me actually get a bit excited rather than so negative. Plan is to tell family wknd of 10/11 all being well..

I really do want to actually feel happy! It's really affecting me now.

cats we decided to find out the gender for the same reason... I was really struggling to get excited and kept having negative thoughts. It has definitely helped us to accept that this is really happening! I can definitely see both sides for finding out/not but for us it just felt like another step closer.

Glad you had a good heart to heart and have a plan - so excited to hear about your scan already x

So I actually had my NIPT scan and bloods last night - all looking good and dated bang on 12+1 as expected. NHS scan is on Monday and still having that, but not having the bloods as no point with NIPT being more accurate.

So I'll have seen baby 4 times by 13 weeks!!!! Wasn't quite the plan. If we have another I wouldn't have the early reassurance scan, would just do NIPT earlier at maybe 10 and a half weeks, then NHS scan and obviously I hopefully wouldn't need an EPU scan. Did do tons of googling on whether this many ultrasounds was ok though!

My main concern is where is the baby going to sleep! We have been planning building work for ages to convert the 2 tiny unusable bedrooms in the loft into 3 bedrooms and a bathroom but everything is taking forever and hubby is being so slow at chasing things up. It will take at least 3 months for the work to be complete and we don't even have final plans yet. Without the work there isn't a bedroom for the baby and our bedroom is so ridiculously small there isn't even room for a moses basket.

I hope you feel a bit better now, glad you and hubby talked things through.

Although we tried for years and years, we recently moved areas into a house that cost 5 times more than the one we lived in when we started trying. Also it's needed 100k worth of work! I feel so poor! I'm just thankful we have a good maternity package where I work.

It sounds like it's worth paying for the harmony test. We're not going to have any screening tests, so that will be another worry throughout for me.

    Hi everyone.

I'm wondering if I can cautiously join you? I say cautiously because I had a chemical pregnancy in April and I'm mildly terrified of something going wrong - but I'm trying to stay positive!

I got my BPF on 19 August and based on LMP, I'm now around 6 and a half weeks pregnant (do I say 6+5? as in 6 weeks and 5 days?).

I probably won't post too much initially, but we're booked in for an early private scan next week and I'm hoping that will put my mind at rest ... for an hour or two :)

It's so lovely to see so many names from the ttc thread - it gives me hope!
    xx
