Hey ladies sorry for delayed response - I didn't want to write until I could give you the whole story. Basically I've had a pretty crazy 28 ish hours!!

So as you know I was super excited about my midwife appointment, then yesterday morning my body decided to give me a curve ball and give me a lovely big bleed to wake up to! So of course I panicked and called 111 who after a bit of a chat told me I needed to see a doctor.

Managed to get appointment for 9.40am - so both me and OH called in sick to work. Doc checked blood pressure and urine with no answers so booked me in at EPU for this morning but told me to still go to midwife that afternoon.

Felt very strange going to midwife in that state but bleeding was stopping so tried to be positive. She was reassuring but also realistic - which was exactly what I needed really. Turns out she was super surprised I got an EPU appointment as normally they don't see people unless it's really bad bleeding so I felt a bit bad...

Anyway I've then been in the morning and after a lot of waiting around and a bladder ready to explode they found a hugely energetic baby B bouncing around in there and dating pretty much spot on what I thought - about 10 1/2 weeks.

Seems crazy you can bleed like that and all be ok but hey ho all is fine!! Feel like I massively overreacted now and wasted our day yesterday but in the scheme of things I guess it's worth it :-)

  • Oh Cats you have had a crazy time!

So sorry about your bleed! Did they give you any idea of what may have caused it?

My bleed was tiny when I had it a couple of weeks ago and they still booked me into EPU so don't feel too bad about it. I was of the opinion that if they wanted to see me, I needed to see them! I never got an explaination for mine (and I forgot to ask!)

So glad everything is looking OK for you!

I feel awful today, feeling very sicky but stuck in work :( Can't wait for Midwife on Tuesday and scan not for another 5 weeks :( Not feeling very pregnant apart from tiredness, sore boobs and little bit of nausea today!

Nope no idea, just one of those things!

And don't worry - I now literally have zero symptoms at all, apart from the fact I can't pull my lower tummy in anymore!!

Finally allowing myself to appreciate being lucky though :-)

cats I'm sorry you had to go through that - speaking from experience its just one of the most worrying things ever!! I'm really glad they got you in so quickly though and put your mind at rest. Bleeding can happen for so many reasons or no reason at all, its just random and you did the right thing.

Sounds like all is well thankfully, make sure you get those feet up and rest! Xx

Thanks MancMama!! Now that it's over I'm just feeling very lucky that we got to see our little peanut again - but wow my emotions have been on a roller coaster!!

Fingers crossed it stays this way.

  • I'm hoping the nausea tails off soon! I feel sick even when I try to drink water (but not actually sick) which is leaving me a bit dehydrated - then the headaches start :rotfl: The joys!

Feeling better today though! Although I weighed myself this morning and I've lost 5lbs since I got my BFP - would be great for the beach in 3 weeks time if I wasn't so bloated looking :rotfl:
  • Beginning to tire of headaches every afternoon :(

I'm on the next thread, but still getting headaches. I bought myself some 4head this afternoon as I didn't want to have to take paracetamol, and it's really good. It's safe to use in pregnancy too.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

  • Glad it's good news Cats. Exact same thing happened with my OH - also at 10 weeks. The bleed was very light though and only happened once, but GP still thought it best to refer us to EPAU.

In a way it was good it happened (although awfully worrying to start with) because it meant we got to see the baby looking well and exactly as he should for that stage.
