Pharmacist in Boots told me not to use 4head during first 12 weeks
she said to avoid everything if possible! Even paracetamol! I bought a gel head patch that you can put in the freezer though.
I'm going to ask midwife tomorrow about 4head! I'm not suffering these bad headaches if I don't need to! Xx0 -
There's a bit on the 4head website about pregnancy advising it is safe to use: http://www.4headaches.co.uk/faq.ashx#8
Although I do see where the pharmacist is coming from with it being best to avoid anything if possible.0 -
Nhs website said paracetamol is ok, it doesn't even take the edge off these headaches though! Xx0

Thanks Becky, I had read that before I went to Boots but she put me right off! I think her words were "I mean you CAN take paracetamol, but if I were you I wouldn't take anything until after 12 weeks". That night, I thought my head was going to explode!
It's so difficult to make a decision when you get given conflicting advise lol Especially when you google a product and it says "safe to take during pregnancy" but followed by "but always consult a doctor"!0 -
So I had my booking in appointment this morning. I actually didn't enjoy it very much.
My mum works in the same building as the midwife clinic so was nervous about bumping into her (which I nearly did! I actually saw her when nipping to the loo for urine sample and had to get the midwife to check that the coast was clear!)
The woman I seen isn't the midwife I'll be seeing as she is on holiday just now. I felt quite out of my depth and she didn't seem to understand that I had irregular periods (PCOS) before BFP and with last period being 28/05/16, wanted to put my due date at the beginning of March when it should be more like beginning of April.
She said I WOULD have had a period at end of June and maybe just never noticed the bleeding! She made me feel quite stupid actually - maybe I'm just being sensitive :rotfl:
She skimmed over the fact that I had been to EPU and never asked me anything about it at all.
She kept saying I've given you leaflets but remember to ask about this, that and the next thing when you come to your next appointment. She also rolled off when I've to get whooping cough and flu jabs. Will need to see what she actually wrote in my booklet when I get in from work.
I had bloods taken and gave a urine sample, filled in a couple of pages of my booklet and was out in 40 mins.
I feel a bit disappointed, I wasn't really sure what to expect but it wasn't that.
Sorry for long post!0 -
Clara I sympathise - mine ignored me about irregular cycles too. I'm actually really glad my booking appointment was so late as I know I would have got a super early scan date otherwise. So she still wrote down an early March due date when I know it will be 2-3 weeks later.
I don't understand why they do it - it's so common to not have 28 day cycles!! Mine also ignored my chemical pregnancy as that was my 'LMP' so she said she couldn't give a due date if she recorded it because it wasn't a normal period. Which is just stupid as I was only 5 days late.
Never mind, dating scan will sync everything up at least :-)Officially Mrs B as of March 2013

Thanks Cats!
I got my scan date and booking appointment at the same time when I phoned our central midwife centre (think we may be a bit different in my area). At the EPU she told me to keep the booking appointment the same but to change the 12 weeks scan date to 2 weeks later. The midwife at the EPU said there was no way I could go with the LMP date.
She asked when I was due and said EPU didn't say and she said no when have you worked out you are due :rotfl: Obviously I think I know roughly when we conceived but after all the information I had given her, I thought she would work it out! She ended up putting 03/04/170 -
Yey I don't think you're far behind me :-) I think I'm 13th March ish. Can't quite believe I'll be 12 weeks next week. No scan date yet though but I'm happy to wait as just means I'll be further along to tell people. Hopefully not too long though!
So far I don't think it's obvious at all, although my gym friends may well have guessed!Officially Mrs B as of March 2013

I'm just going by the weekend that I got positive OPK and BD'd the whole weekend :rotfl: My app says the 01/04/17 but I guess I'll find out at the scan in a month
I have started to avoid seeing people as I've had quite bad nausea and not felt like socialising! My lack of drinking wine would give it away!
I was actually at my brothers house at the weekend for my dads birthday and hubby came up with great idea! He had finished a bottle of red wine on Saturday night (with a screw cap) - so we filled 3/4 of it with non alcoholic red wine and took it to dinner for me to drink! They had no idea - it was so sneaky! :rotfl:0 -
Yeah we've been really lucky all out social stuff was at the beginning of the summer so haven't had to hide it. And when we see family I normally drive anyway. So fingers crossed I can hide it for a couple more weeks!!
Pretty sure my netball and gym girls are just going to say I KNEW IT though, but it'll be fun when they do :-)Officially Mrs B as of March 2013
