Congrats Cats, nice to have you here! I had a bit of a moan a few pages back about not having any symptoms and have suffered with nausea pretty much every day since!
I've been using a hair bobble with my jeans already Mouse! Feel so bloated, but it's not noticeable yet (well, I don't think so). Mostly wearing cropped linen trousers at the moment and they've got a bit of elastic in the waist so they're more comfortable.
Congrats on the new nephew. I'm sure you'll have a real mix of emotions, not helped out by pregnancy hormones too, but your sister will understand.
My midwife called today as I'd hoped, and I've got my booking in appt on Thursday afternoon. Need to go to the hospital for it, but she wanted to see me soon as I'm 9 weeks now. Fingers crossed for a scan appointment before we go away next month!0 -
Our appointments are on the same day Big. I'm sure it's bloating at the moment. I'm very gassy. Ohh I'm glad I came back to check this thread!
Great news MancMama I'm glad your scan went well!
Fantastic Cats, so glad you're back on here!
Sexymouse I'm glad that your early scan was good. Don't worry about your scan being late - your midwife should be able to get a scan at 12 weeks - you're a high priority.
We were - we had our booking appointment at 11 + 4 so were very concerned about when the scan would be! But she got it for 12 weeks exactly. Had to have a battle with them but she did it before we arrived.
the only thing it meant was because it was a last minute squeeze in - the scan wasn't with the consultant - it should have been but it didn't really matter in the end. We saw the consultant then again at 15 weeks and 20Mortgage remaining: £42,260 of £77,000 (2.59% til 03/18 - 2.09% til 03/23)

I am having my first scan on 26/7. this is our first baby and I just turned 37. slightly anxious at being an older mom but very happy at the same time at being so blessed. haven't told anyone so doesn't feel very real at the moment so decided to share on here.0

Welcome and congrats supki!
My booking appointment was fine. Had a student midwife doing it, she was lovely but struggled to get blood out of me, so had to go to the pathology dept. One advantage of being at the hospital, saved having to make another appointment. Now to wait for the scan letter to arrive.0 -
Welcome and congratulations Supki!
Had my scan this morning and all is fine. Even though I knew I was pregnant I was still somewhat amazed to find there was a baby in there. Was really lovely to see it wiggling around and waving its arms and legs. Been on cloud nine since. My due date was also moved forward to the 17th January so I guess that means I have one week less of being pregnant than expected.
Guess it is now time for me to move onto the next board. I will see you all soon. xxxNov Grocery challenge - £0/£3000 -
I'm so pleased your scan went well VicVics. xx
I had my booking in yesterday and the midwife was really nice. She also luckily got my blood from me first time, so that was less uncomfortable than the previous experience I had with the midwife for Poppy. My son's vaccinations afterwards went better than I could have imagined, and I'd been so worried about them. My Mum took him in, and he didn't even cry, though he told me after that one of them hurt a lot. His poor little arm is still sore, though doesn't seem to have reacted as badly as some I've seen.
My midwife was shocked at the fact that I'd not received my scan date through, as she said she'd marked it as urgent. I rang the antenatal clinic today to ask for it, as she'd advised me to as I'm nearly 10 weeks now. The lady was really unhelpful, said I'm not urgent until I'm 12 weeks. I had to explain that I'd had a previous loss in November, and that my consultant is seeing me on the 9th August and is expecting me to have had my scan by then. She then took my hospital number and looked me up, and found that my scan has been booked for the 1st August (Bank Holiday Monday). I was quite upset that I'd had to virtually beg for the appointment, given my circumstances, and she'd just gone by how many weeks pregnant I was - not by the word of my midwife that it was urgent, and that I'd had to explain everything to her in that way. She never apologised or gave me any empathy despite me telling her of this either!Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170 -
That's awful Sexymouse I'm sorry you had to have that experience. Where we are the midwife books the scan directly by calling the department during the booking appointment. As I said ours did this before we arrived.
It sounds like your midwife did what she needed to but you're just in an area with a stupid system for booking the scans.
You shouldn't be having to chase it up.
Why they don't just book them directly everywhere I don't know!Mortgage remaining: £42,260 of £77,000 (2.59% til 03/18 - 2.09% til 03/23)

Mouse, glad your booking appt went well but im sorry you've had a rubbish experience again. At least you were booked in even if they hadn't thought to tell you, so ridiculous...0
