Glad the recent scans have gone well ladies :)

I had a pack of quavers earlier VicVics, anything savoury and cheesy seems to hit the spot at the moment (been munching my son's cheddars crackers as well). Hope you find a fab house soon!

Going to visit MIL this weekend. Husband doesn't want to say anything until we've had the 12 week scan, so I hope I'll be feeling well enough to hide my symptoms. Feeling pretty rough today though.

12 weeks today 😊 but have had a terrible week, have gone from slight nausea to actually being sick although it does seem to ease in the afternoon.
I dont think I'm going to be able to keep it quiet at work much longer lol-my frequent and very abrupt trips to the ladies will soon be noticed! When did you all tell your work colleagues?
Have started to tell some close friends and family (we'd already told our immediate parents and siblings) so it's starting to feel very real now!

    How's everyone else doing?

Aww sorry the sickness has worsened skea - from what I've read it peaks (so will be at its worst) at between 12-13 weeks (though with my son this carried on until 16 weeks just not as badly), so hopefully this will be the worst week for you and will start to ease off. Congratulations on getting to 12 weeks - have you been given a scan date yet?

I'm an agency worker, so haven't told any colleagues, as it's not that type of job. I've not told my manager either yet - will wait until I've had all the scans and know that we have a healthy baby this time. I've told a couple of close friends and my parents, but that's it. To be honest, there's not an awful lot more people to tell for me, as after my daughter Poppy was stillborn, a lot of my friends just disappeared as though my grief were contagious, and if they can't be there in my time of sadness when I needed them the most, I'm not going to bother with them just because I'm potentially carrying my rainbow baby. I now know who my true friends are. *sorry for the rant*

I'm only 8+2 today, so a long way to go yet until 12 weeks. I've yet to have my booking in appointment, though I know that I'll be seeing my Fetal Medicine consultant at the beginning of August for a scan then too. My sickness hasn't been too bad this time around, which is also worrying me as I had it really badly with Poppy and quite badly with my son. I had an early scan a week ago and all was well, so fingers crossed things stay positive. I need to call the midwife tomorrow (she's been on annual leave and doesn't go back until tomorrow) to chase my booking in appointment as I reported my pregnancy to the GP at 4 weeks.

    Good morning to all

Ah sexymouse thats terrible, my friend lost her baby last year at 10 weeks but didnt tell me until about 6 months later - she said she wished she had told more people as she and her husband felt so alone for those few months - its so unfortunate that you had the complete opposite reaction!! Definitely they're not worth sharing any beautiful beams from your rainbow!!

After having a terrible day yesterday...touch wood today has not been so bad - its 10am and I havent been sick yet so woohoo!! I had my first scan 2 weeks ago, and dont have to go back until start Aug.

I'm trying to keep the news under wraps for just one more week - my OHs cousin gets married next Thurs and we are unsure firstly whether we are going, but I don't want to take away from the bride on her big day by having people fawn over us...that sound terrible!! I'm not being big headed - but at a wedding last year I witnessed the way my OH's family make a big deal of a previous pregnancy and it was not nice, the poor girl was pulled from aunt to cousin and grannies and great aunts and made to tell her news to about 100 people, she told me later it was very tiring and took away from the enjoyment of her day.

My company has an annual shutdown at end of July so if I make it that far without having puked all over my boss I'll tell them before we close.

OH booked us a short break for end of August so I have that to look forward to...though not sure if i'm quite bikini ready lol!!

Aww - the annual shutdown sounds like good timing skea (a bit like the summer holidays for me as a teacher). I completely understand what you mean about waiting until after the wedding. Don't worry about being bikini ready. You have every reason to be sporting a little tummy from now on. We recently came back from a week's holiday and my tummy was definitely not flat (pregnancy bloating combined with the fact that I comfort ate after Poppy's death), and was also covered in stretch marks from DS who was a big baby. There were many ladies there who were wearing bikinis who were MUCH bigger than me, so it's definitely a case of mind over matter and behaving confidently. Where are you off to? Anywhere nice?

Ah thanks that great to hear - I would always have been self conscious about my weight even before this, and I think at the end of Aug I'll be sporting a "is she pregnant or just fat??" tummy so black swimsuits and big sarongs all round!!
We had originally planned a long weekend in Munich in Oct, until we decided that since i dont like walking at the best of time...it prob would be better if I took it easy and have gone for 5 days in Spain instead. A hotel right on the beach and 10 mins walk from the town centre, plus a spa to massage my weary bones if i get tired of walking from the bar to the swimming pool!!

That sounds lovely. Don't forget to use a higher factor sun cream than usual as your skin is more sensitive to the sun when pregnant. x

Made it through the weekend at the in-laws without throwing up, etc, although I think MIL has her suspicions. She's tactful enough not to pry too much, but I'd bet she's been on the phone to her sister for a gossip by now.

Saw GP today to get midwife referral. She gave me my notes and laughed when I produced a plastic bag to hide them in for the walk home. Hope I get my booking appointment soon, would love to have my scan before we visit family next month.

So glad you had a successful weekend with the in-laws. I had to rethink the bag I took to my midwife appointment once I realised I needed to carry my notes. Away went the lovely small handbag and out came the only one that would fit anything A4 sized lol.

Today we have had an offer agreed on a house we want to buy. Yippee we will have somewhere to live!! It does mean that I am now going to have to swap hospitals and GP mid pregnancy so fingers crossed that runs smoothly. I hope the process isn't too difficult.
