Hi all, I'd like to join you if that's okay. I got my bfp last week and I think I'm 5+5 with a due date of 27th November, but as I ovulate later than cd14 it could be a little later.

Today was the first day I've felt pregnant as I've had heartburn and felt bloated all day. It reminds me of the nausea and heartburn I've got to come as I had a little girl two years and retching while trying to be discreet at work wasn't fun.

Congratulations Kynthia! I keep looking in the TTC thread regularly hoping to see BFPs :)

Hope you're feeling better soon South

    Hi everyone.
Bit of a lurker here but I post very occasionally.
Is it okay to join? I'm 9+3 with my little blob. Have already had a few problems this pregnancy but I'm finally starting to feel positive.
    I'm due 2nd November. X

Thanks Freddie. I'm glad your scan went well.

    Welcome Jemma.

Southoftheriver I'm sorry to here you've been so unwell. Hopefully your symptoms will improve later on but in the meantime just do whatever it takes to get through it. The baby will take what it needs from you so don't worry if you live on crisps and water (or whatever you can tolerate).

  • Thanks for the best wishes everyone. Am resting at home. Hard to get the balance between feeling lazy doing nothing and then doing something simple and finding myself exhausted. Really hoping I'm in the group that improves in the second trimester as the thought of this going on for another 30+ weeks is terrifying.

South.. my daughter had horrific HG with both of hers from about 6 weeks until a couple of hours after the birth.. she weighed less after having the baby than she did before she was pregnant both times.. She had 3 lots of medication to control it which didn't work fully but did reduce it and several hospital admissions. One of the drugs is known to rarely cause problems with the baby's heart and she had a few dopplers run because the 2nd had a heart arrythmia.. but it is the same as her dads and grandmothers so probably not related to the medication but they do keep an extra close eye on it when you are medicated.. She is a member of a couple of HG groups. Despite my daughter losing so much weight and the constant sickness the babies were both perfectly healthy and 7lb 13 and 8lb 6.. so they weren't even small!

Most days just getting out of bed was more than she could manage.. it is totally debilitating and noone ever understands unless they've been there.. just stay resting, regardless of how lazy you feel.. too much moving just sets the sicking off again!!

  • Hi all, sorry to those unwell, hope you feel better soon and welcome and congratulations to the new members :)

I had my booking in appointment on Friday and it turns out I'm high risk due to my hypothyroidism and PCOS. Sadly this means I can't use the birthing unit I wanted to, and may not be able to have a water birth - although this depends on the consultants opinion nearer the time. I have a recommendation for anyone with hypothyroidism... Do not Google it's associations with pregnancy and birth!!!

We told OHs immediate family at the weekend and they were all super happy. Luckily his mum still has a cot and Moses basket etc from when he was little so we are able to fly up with LO when they arrive rather than driving with all our stuff for 10 hours!

It's frustrating not knowing how I'll feel... I'm at a dinner dance on Saturday and I was meant to be giving someone a lift, but as I will probably get tired and leave early, they are going to get a taxi instead. I might be fine and stay until the end but I just don't know! Weird to think I'm already nearly a 1/4 way through. Can't wait for the scan to check it's really and actually happening!!
