Wooohooo and hello to all the new ladies so glad to see success from the long timers and a massive whooop to TCOD for your little miracle BFP!!!

    Had our scan today :happydance:

My due date has now changed to 19th August.

But I also got a letter from doctors today saying I need more blood tests as my first routine blood tests have picked up a possible anti body!

Also appears my bloods went to the hospital I didn't want to use as my hospital of choice who did my scan had no record of them when I spoke to them about it as they were doing my NT bloods anyway.

So got a load more bloods taken today too so they have a record of them.

I did speak to my midwife before my scan and she knew nothing about my blood results :dohh: (my doctors are so incompetent!!!) and is supposed to be ringing me back tomorrow.

Just want to know baby and me will be ok....

    Will try link piccie :D

Purcy, what a beautiful scan! Congratulations. :j

Daisiegg, please take it easy. I know that it is so hard to get out of the mentality of not putting work first in the teaching profession (ex-teacher here), but you really need to change the mindset and put yourself and baby first.

I have a question for you guys tonight, as I'm a bit worried (but at the same time trying not to be). TMI warning, not that much seems TMI here! According to most recent scan dates/midwife dates, I will be 11 weeks tomorrow. I've always spotted throughout my pregnancy, but the last couple of days I've had a few instances of quite heavy dark brown discharge (enough to cover a tissue when I wipe and transfer a little bit to a pad). It occurs very quickly and then stops as quickly as it came and then goes back to my usual spotting. I've had 4 instances of it in the last 24 hours alone and today I've had quite a lot of twinges and niggles. Nothing particularly painful, but I've noticed I have had more twinges than normal - especially this evening. Has anybody else around the 10-11 week mark experienced this? I'm really trying not to worry and just tell myself that the twinges are just ligaments stretching, etc, and remind myself that brown is old blood, so no reason to be alarmed (unlike if it was red). But I can't help but fretting. :(

I'm going to ring the midwife in the morning to be safe, but was just wondering if any of you guys had similar experiences, just to try and put my mind at rest for tonight? Googling brings up a range of responses and arguably is making me fret even more...

Oh Purcy, thank you so much for replying so quickly! Hearing someone who is just a couple of weeks ahead say that they've experienced similar levels of pains/cramps/niggles is such a relief, thank you. x

Congratulations to the ladies who had scans (so jealous of the amazing pics!) and to any ladies who have just had a BFP :j:j:j

Daisiegg So sorry to hear you have been feeling so stressed out. I had a full on melt down last week worrying about everything so I can kind of empathise with how you are feeling. It's not just baby stuff I have been worrying about, I got to the point where my friend was late for work so I assumed something terrible had happened to her, and text my hubby asking if he thought she had died! Of course she was fine but I think all these hormones do crazy things to us ladies. Anyway I really hope you are feeling at least a little bit better and sending lots of hugs your way.

Miss_Imaginative I'm only 6+5 but have experienced all sort of cramps and pains from the beginning. Lots of people assure me that it's fine and like you say probably things stretching.

AFM I have been feeling majorly rough still. I just can't do anything to get rid of the sickness. I've tried travel bands, smelling a lemon, eating all sorts of different foods which is a real struggle as I have NO appetite whatsoever. I can't even look at chocolate without wanting to be sick and this is extremely unlike me. Still not actually being sick, I like Daisiegg seem to experience morning sickness at the other end (sorry if TMI) and spent most of the morning on the loo :o
I have managed to work from home for a few days which has been a god send but they want me to travel next week and there is no way I can make long journeys in this state. I don't know whether to tell them yet or to just call in sick on those days. We have a payrise due soon and I worry if I tell them it might effect that so I wanted to keep quiet until 12 weeks when all the payrise etc is done and dusted anyway.

Thanks for asking. I posted quite a long message yesterday evening about how it went at the GP but it is on the previous page now and I think people have missed it. Anyway it did not go well :(

I do feel calmer and more positive though. My mw appointment got cancelled as we have loads of flooding here so they were short staffed. Hubby had taken the afternoon off work to come with me and was already on his way home when they called to cancel but it was actually nice to spend the afternoon together. He has been a real star. We just went to the supermarket, got back, he cleaned up the kitchen etc then I realised I forgot a crucial item so he has gone back out to get it. Bless him. Bearing in mind he is still jet lagged after being in the US last week and has been pulling 14 or 15 hour days this week starting at 5am then coming home to a crazy wife who is a wreck. He is being very good to me :)

Hope everyone else is ok - happy weekend!
  • Hi Daisiegg,
I'm so sorry to hear both appointments didn't go well.

My dr has said that practically no medication is Officially Safe in pregnancy due to them not wanting to test on pregnant ladies. So that's why leaflets say not to take etc,, but saying that I am glad your sister knows what she's talking about.

I'm really glad your sister has reassured you. You're lucky to have her!

Maybe see if you can request a different doctor next time? Maybe a lady or one youve seen before? One you could open up to? It wasn't acceptable of him to ignore your confession as to why you were crying. Pre-natal depression is a serious thing. I'm NOT saying that's what you have, but he should be looking out for it in every pregnant lady and caring why you were (or anyone in his room was) upset.

It's a shame the weather cancelled your midwife appointment but hopefully you won't have to wait too long. If possible tell her / the booking receptionist that you have worries so hopefully could jump the list as I'm sure many others will have been cancelled as well.

    Take care of yourself xx
