Gelly & Boatgirl - so pleased for you both

Gelly - have you tried taking your tablet with a bit of food, I can't swallow the smallest of tablets with water alone, have to chew a bit of food up, stuff the tablet inside and swallow. My gag reflex is too strong if I even taste a bit of tablet powder! Even if they say swallow with water, I have to have them with some food or I'd never get them down.

Sunshine- you are right folic acid is the most important thing to take

I am 11 weeks tomorrow and now excited and anxious in equal measures. Saw a heartbeat at 8+3 so thinking positively but a lot can happen in a few weeks and although I know the odds are stacked in my favour, I can't help but worry.

Anyone else who is on their 2nd child (or beyond) did it take ages to sink in for you the 2nd time? With DC1 it was a (planned) shock, then lots of worry and waiting but it had sunk in quite quickly. Whereas this time, the time has gone quickly and beyond feeling really sick, it doesn't seem to have sunk in that there will be another baby and I'm not sure why? DH is the same, maybe we are just so busy with DC1?? I'm not sure but it is strange!

Moneypenny, I found it sank in quite quickly on numbers 2 & 3, we had midwife app quite quickly with them but will be 10+weeks with this one, 8 at min and it hasn't sunk in yet, I thought maybe it just didn't seem real iykwim till then, but maybe your right about being busy... Being occupied with the others does change things slightly x

Thanks Sam. It's just strange because I thought once I saw it on the screen I'd believe it but it was as though I was watching someone else have a scan. If everything goes well and we are able to tell people, maybe it will seem real then. I'm fairly sure it'll sink in when I tell my boss! :shocked: :rotfl:

Thanks ladies, the imaging centre aren't open between Xmas and new year and she said they would prefer not to do it before seven weeks in case it causes concern so have booked it for 4th Jan when I'll be roughly 8+ 3 :j

Well the booking appointment is through.. Goodness knows when I will get a scan because I'm going to be nearly 11 weeks at the booking.. and I can't make it so need to rebook.. so the nuchal scan wont be happening again.. I was too far on last time and the time before and they couldn't get the measurement with the one before that because she was in the wrong place.. I'm really sad, I really wanted the pic for MIL's album..

And OH is being a poohead because his mother was supposed to be visiting last Wednesday and cancelled last minute so it is being taken out on me as usual.. .. gggrrrr

I'm going window shopping for pushchairs I can neither afford nor need..

Had my 12 week scan date through the post today, Jan 19th . Slightly gutted it's not the week before as we are going away to see family that weekend and will have to keep it a secret then, but as long as all is ok I won't mind too much!!

I'm not really looking forward to telling people as my sister has just been through rounds of ivf and is expecting about 2-3weeks a head of us, so feel like I'm taking the shine off it with my surprise bundle, also last time we were both preg I had a miscarriage so feel as though it's a bad omen... Just have a bad gut feeling.

That's rubbish for you pigpen, I will be 10+4ish for my booking in, so think ours will be a late scan too, could you try phoning midwives for an earlier app? Although mine was the earliest they had free, everyone must have been busy lately :rotfl:

they reckon loads of families are fitting their 3rd+ child in before 2017 for child benefit purposes. so might be why.. I'm ringing on Monday the chances are they will come to the house to do booking at a time I can manage .. and at my grand ancient age I need all the Downs checks doing I won't be far short of 43 when this pickle arrives :eek: so I will be playing on that a bit. I will discuss the scan when I call on Monday. We are away 28Dec -2Jan Then straight back into school.. If I don't like what they say I will book a private one so I can have the nuchal done... [ETA.. I just booked it anyway.. 21st Dec. if they can squeeze me in.. they are getting back to me hopefully (11+3)]

I've had a panic.. I bought concert tickets for June 14th... I'm not going am I?? 36+5.. The chances are I'll have a little squishy by then. Oh well.. I'd rather have the squishy

So glad to hear the scans went well skint and good vibes! Welcome to the newbies!

I'm worrying today... had a bit of brown tinged cm when I wiped last night and again today. Only very light and blink and you'd miss it... and no cramping at all but I'm still worried sick... not had anything like this thusfar. I want to cry! Has anyone had anything similar?

I know this sort of thing can be completely normal but I wasn't expecting it. 10 days until our scan... guess I just have to wait it out and hope it doesn't turn into something.

Think I'll go back to bed Xx.
