  • Hi all

Can I join you? I had my BFP last Thursday :j, still doubting it and holding my breath at the moment as I had a miscarriage in May so I'm dreading it happening again. I am 4.5wks now which is the same I got to last time.

I went to see the Dr today (had appt booked for something else), she was lovely and gave me the details for the midwife so I'll ring that tomorrow. She also said due to my work (I work directly with male prisoners) that they can sign me fit for work but not fit for prisoner contact at any time I feel unsafe/unwilling to do it, which is a relief. My job is relatively safe but it's good to know this.

The reason I have decided to join you all is mainly because I need a really good excuse to use to explain why I'm not going to my work xmas do in 2 weeks time! It's a paid for do with free bar! If I go and not drink my colleagues will twig quicker than if I don't go! :rotfl:. Any suggestions?

    Thanks

you've already made plans with OH or family?
A friend is coming from out of town and it's the only time you can see her?
you had an emergency.. family issue, burst water pipe, electric box exploded, roo caved in, anything?
    you're skint?

Or just say no you don't want to this year..

you could go, not drink and be the 'designated driver' take OH and let him get razzled??

    congratulations!

  • Hi ladies and a big welcome to flutterbyuk25

Just got back from seeing my miscarriage consultant and I have news!!!

    There's a baby with a CRL of 4.3mm and a heartbeat :j

We are beyond shocked but absolutely delighted. We've never had a scan and had good news so we're now cautiously optimistic that it might finally be our rainbow.

Next appt is with the GP tomorrow, consultant has told me to delay the midwife appt for now until I'm 8-9 weeks, rheumatologist on Thursday and then EPU next Weds for another scan.

Strict instructions not to go to the gym or snowboarding anytime soon - so am going to have to take it very easy. We've got a snowboarding holiday booked for January and paid for but I'm not going to worry about it yet until we know how things go.

Ps - got the rash back again today but now on my torso rather than chest and neck. Consultant said to keep an eye on it and mention it to the GP tomorrow morning.

Oh my goodness, there's actually a baby in there - woooohooooo!!!!!!:j

Gelly .. that is fabulous news.. you do know that the chance of miscarriage reduces greatly once you've seen a heartbeat.. not no chance but reduced!! Fingers crossed for a rainbow xx

  • Aw Gelly that made me fill up, im so pleased for you. I can't imagine how you must have felt seeing its little fluttering heartbeat - fantastic! Congratulations!!

I ended up having my bloods done in the middle of the appointment, Im not proud of how I went on - a fan was wheeled in at one point, I was put on my side and had my leg stroked by the student midwife who told me I had "done fantastically..." haha!!!

Got my dating scan while I was there, 17th December and I'll be 11+4, Im so looking forward to telling everyone (providing everything is ok) at Christmas, I was anxious my scan wasn't going to be until after the fat man has been.

    Hugs to all x

  • Hi guys! Joining here! I'm 5 weeks.

Currently living abroad and the healthcare system is a bit different here! Went to doctor to confirm pregnancy and they gave me a little scan and I got to see the gestational sac! Very happy. Have to go back now at 7 weeks for another scan and blood tests - they have a pretty rigid structure here.

Hoping to get through these next few weeks super quick! My boobs hurt and I'm exhausted all the time! No sickness so far though!
