  • I had them with my daughter too, I came off them gradually (thank goodness!) I literally couldn't fill my face lol.
I remember intending to go swimming one afternoon, but instead I drove past the pool to Tesco and spent about £40 on snacks - went home and ate the lot. It's incredible, theres being hungry and then theres steroid hunger!! Will you be on them for your whole pregnancy? Im 7+4 and am hoping to be off them by 12 weeks as it's driving me nuts - im going to be a house end! x

I really don't know yet. As you can see from my signature, I've got a bit of history with recurrent miscarriages so they are treating me with a belt and braces approach.

    I've got:

Prednisolone - to suppress my immune system
Cyclogest pessaries - progesterone to build lining of uterus
Aspirin - to thin my blood
Clexane injections - to thin my blood

and for my recent diagnosis of APS - Hydroxychloroquine - an anti inflammatory.

I now rattle when I walk I'm taking so much medication plus my belly is getting badly bruised from the clexane injections but if this is what it takes for us to get our rainbow baby, I will do it!

Aaah thank you euronorris, all hugs are very gratefully received at the mo. It's such a lonely and scary time.

Plus ended up seeing GP this morning for more medication supplies and he checked my height, weight and blood pressure - it's high so they might put me on medication for that too - aaaaaarrrrgggghhhh!

Oh Gelly you are like a walking pharmacy! Fingers crossed the medication helps.

I feel like I am about to burst today as I have been trying to hard to drink plenty. I am so bad far drinking hardly anything at work. 10+ 6 today and a week tomorrow until our dating scan. Eeek.
  • Sorry for the late post just finished work :(

I had my booking in appt today and as expected during blood test time I cried like a good un, I didn't just cry I was hysterical... god knows what the midwife thought!!! She didn't have the freeze spray and as soon as she said that I lost the plot :rotfl:

Anyway all done now... phew. I have my scan date 3rd December so just two weeks to wait, it can't come quick enough :j

Gelly, still thinking about you, I bet your rattling when you walk with all them meds, as long as they do the job that's all that matters xx

  • Wow Gelly that's amazing, look after yourself with all those meds, but like you say, it will all be worth it.

Skint that's good news on your booking in/scan, well done for getting through the bloods.

Hope everyone has a relaxing weekend x
