Scan was fine thanks ladies, they were running 45 mins late which is a veeeeerrrrrrry long time with a full bladder!
All seemed well with the baby, and there's only one phew! Had to see the diabetic midwife and consultants and they've decided to not treat me as being diabetic (I'm not) but then want me to test weeks 24 and 27 which is a bit of a contradiction. Oh I'm now dates 13+1 so should be moving up the threads, hope to see you all there soon and I'll probably check back each day.
  • Glad it went well LemonTree :) Hopefully see you on the other side. I had to do a diabetic test as I'm overweight. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be :)

Euronorris - glad booking in went OK. Did you have the scan too? We have both on the same day here.

Had a tumultuous 48 hours, pain on one side got worse and had spotting. GP wanted to rule out ectopic, 6 hour wait for a doctor, examined me and said all tests and examinations look positive but can't scan you until tomorrow. Long wait until scan today but good news, a wriggly bean :) 8+3, told both sets of parents. Still hasn't sunk in properly, long wait until 12 week scan but did reassure me after all the negative symptoms.

Gelly - hope you are ok xxx

Glad the scan went well Lemon Tree :)

Also glad to hear that all turned out ok Moneypenny.

No, there was no scan yesterday. Will be around the 12 week mark which is early December. Should get scan date through next week :)

  • Great to hear all the good news - moneypenny glad all ok and you got to tell your parents - can't wait for that bit!!

Lemon that's fab news, so glad all is well, best of luck and hopefully see you on the next thread soon.

Cannot wait for Monday now - I've been told they will give me my scan date on the day of booking in so won't have to wait for a letter which is good. Hope your letter is here asap euro x

  • Hi ladies, thank you for your kind wishes - we truly appreciate them.

A bit of an update. Still spotting brown but not as much.

Had an appt at the EPU this morning for a blood test, got there and turns out I had to give a urine sample and ended up having a scan but no blood test.

Scan shows a pregnancy and a yolk sac but as I'm only approx 5+4, it's too early to really see anything more but they confirmed that everything looks as it should for the stage I'm at. I'm booked to have another scan in 2 weeks with the EPU but also have an appt next Tuesday with my consultant who will also scan me so hopefully we might have some more news by Tuesday (if we're lucky).

Strangely, my b00bs have starting to become tender again - oh and I saw 4 magpies this morning before I left for the hospital. That's about as scientific as it gets....

Still hoping this one comes off but nobody at the EPU seemed bothered and said everything is "normal". For me, there is never a "normal".

Wish I could have had the blood test today and a repeat on Friday but they say there is no need so more waiting.

  • Ahhh Gelly, that is such good news, just try not to stress over it, I'm sure the blood test will come around before you know it. (easier said than done I know).

Thanks for the update euro, I will def be asking for the blood test before anything else as I know I won't be able to concentrate. I had to have blood taken earlier this year and I swear I was worse than a child, luckily they had that freeze spray so I didn't actually feel it... praying to god they have this this time!!!

Received my card today for my dental treatments and prescriptions, so I guess I should really make an appointment with the dentist now  another phobia of mine, lets just get tomorrow out of the way first :o

Congrats Lemon, so happy for you, hope to see you on the other thread in a couple of weeks.

skint hope they have the freeze spray for you too! Ooh can't wait for the that card, need to register with a new dentist though now we've moved so better get looking for one that will take freebies!

  • Thanks skintbuthappy & MancMama4, so hard to not be nervous about it given our history but trying to be positive.

Did another CB digi this morning and it actually said 3+!!!!! I think that's the first time with any pregnancy that I've had that. Also, sleeping really badly and have been awake since about 2.30am but was laying in bed thinking "am I hungry or do I feel nauseous" - think it might actually be the latter although as I'm taking prednisolone, it makes me so hungry too, it's difficult to differentiate.

Roll on next Tuesday for our consultant appt and hopefully a positive scan.

Got to get in touch with my GP today to ask for more medication as I've only been given enough to tide me over until Monday.

Gelly Im taking Prednisolone too, for hyperemesis. Im on 15mg x 3 times a day - the last dose being before bed and for the past two weeks ive been waking up at 2.30 wondering whether im going to be sick or I need a biscuit. I've never known hunger like it, since I started taking them!!! :rotfl:

Hi Dinky, they are known for creating ravenous hunger - not good when I'm still doing Slimming World with the blessing of my GP and consultant.

Was also on them for the last pregnancy too and was also starving then! :rotfl:
