So had my booking in appt; not with my usual midwife as she ended up being on call last night, but with another one I had met before. Had bloods taken, given a load of info and have my next midwife appt in 3 weeks time.
All being well i.e. this one is sticky, I will be under a consultant again and midwife confirmed I will definitely be able to choose an elective section as ended with an emergency one before. I won't however, be given an early scan as have had a live birth since my miscarriages.
Please, please, please stay sticky and all be well at the 12 week scan!0 -

Can I join you please? Got my BFP on the 1st and confirmed with a digi yesterday. Should be due on 7th March 2016 if my dates are right.
I'm not feeling any different just now (5+0) suppose its quite early yet to be having any symptoms but not feeling anything is making me a tad nervous.
Need to get registered at the Dr's before I even think about booking in with the midwife, we moved recently and I haven't done it yet:eek:
Welcome on board!! I didn't feel anything until 6 weeks so make the most of it!!0 -
Welcome back LittleMoog!! Fingers crossed for a stickybean!
Rambosmum, i have that "yack" feeling too, and not sleeping well. Think it might be apprehension about the scan this week.
Also congratulations to HighlandLass!
I am having a rubbish day. Got my provisional timetable for next teaching year, and it sucks. I asked for 4 days a week again with any day off, but said i would also be flexible and have two afternoons off instead e.g. Instead of having 5 periods free on one day I will have them split at the end of a couple of days.
The whole point of this 20% pay cut is so that I can go home, do some planning, then pick my son up from his first year at school twice a week.
What I have ended up with is ONE afternoon off a fortnight (!) then two days a fortnight with P5 off (so just time to rush home, shovel some food, then collect DS, but no time for planning) snd the rest of my so called time off in the middle of the day, so I can't take DS to school nor collect him, and can't work from home either!
When I complained, my boss said that part timers don't get privileges (!). I nearly told her where to go!
All other part timers got their usual day off. i feel like they are taking the p*ss, and if I dare to complain, i am being selfish as i will be requiring maternity leave.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Hi all,
I've ummed and ahhed about coming over here, but figured you're the best bunch for answering questions and allaying fears! I've read back about 10 pages but won't update the list on my phone in case it mucks it up
I've been over on the Trials and Tribulations thread as it's taken us 6 years and 2 ivf cycles (1 fresh, 1 frozen) to get this bfp. Our official test day was on Saturday, so it's still all extremely new. I hope you don't mind me asking a couple of questions...
First, how do you figure out how far along you are after an ivf cycle? As this was a frozen cycle, egg collection was months ago, but we had 2 5-day blastocysts thawed and transferred on 23rd June. Should I count conception as 18th June? How far would that make me?
Second, do many people have crampy pain and very light spotting (a tiny smear when you wipe) this early? I'm trying to persuade myself not to worry
We've got a scan at the ivf clinic booked for the 21st July. No idea what they'll be looking for so early, and if that goes ok we'll be referred back to the gp and into the 'normal' system! In the meantime I'm totally agreeing with posters who've said that time stands still!!
Hope you're all well,
Floaty xxxx35, OH 39, unexplained IF (all tests normal), no joy w/ 3 cycles of Clomid, IVF1, Jan 2015 - BFN. Currently in 1st FET cycle using endo scratch and EmbryoGlue, BFP 4th July. MC 12th July0 -
Hey Floaty!!! Congrats on the BFP
Cramping and light bleeding (could be implantation) is completely normal. I'm at 8 weeks and still get cramps now.
Usually you count your weeks from the first day of your last period, not sure how it works for IVF, sorry. They will probably tell you at your first scan. Heartbeats can show as early as 6 weeks. Fingers crossed for you x0 -
Hi ladies, I had my 10week scan today and bubs is measuring spot on for dates at 9+3. Pinkshoes and rambo hope your scans go well this week and fingers crossed for next week gelly. Welcome floaty, big congrats! Yes cramping is totally normal, just everything stretching etc.Mum of 2 :j0

Floaty- cramping is normal as long as it isn't as bad as a normal period- mine was about the same level as a normal period for a day or two but has been less severe most of the time and I haven't had any for a while now, I'm 12 weeks tomorrow. Spotting is normal for some women, but not for all, so just mention it to your specialist when you get a chance.
As for dates - you'll get a date at your first scan. the first IVF scan is to ensure implantation occurred as it should and everything is where it should be. I'd count 2 weeks from when you were implanted until they give you a date.
Minimuffin- really pleased that your scan went ok. 3 sleeps until mine!0 -
Hello ladies. I had BFP on Friday and I think I'm 5+3 at the moment. :j
I've got my first midwife appointment on 31.07.15, how long does it normally take to get a scan after that appointment? I'll be nearly 9 by then.Getting married 02.08.14

the insider it varies a lot by area I think. I got all my appointments through in the post last time and with my DD, but in some areas I think the MW arranges scan after your booking in visit.Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160

Welcome floaty and insider.
Booking in went fine. In and out fairly quickly. Was advised to take low dose aspirin which I have been doing anyway so that is all good. BP a bit high but nothing to worry about...yet. Might have been the fact that I was a bit dehydrated and really hot after driving in a non A/C car.
All my notes were incorrect though about previous MMC's, so it was good to sort all that out so its clear on my records from now on.
Cramping is normal, I have had a few slight twinges even now and I am 11+4 today. I also had lots of stretchy pully stabby pain yesterday which was quite uncomfortable.
Icky yacky feeling really going away now, just the odd bit in the morning.
Anyone else notice they cant eat as much now. Even when I feel fine, I feel like I get full up very quickly. Having to get used to adjusting the portion sizes. Could also be why I have lost 3kg so far (have plenty spare so not worried about that).0
