Thanks MrsB. I hadn't even known I was to worry about it yet!! Such a wealth of worrying opportunities awaits us all.

Daisy, my nipples are the same really. I've spent quite a lot of time analyzing them recently too. :) I had read people saying that seeing veins on their b00bs was THE definitive pregnancy sign, so I've been peering at them far to closely recently.

Saturday night and I REALLY want a glass of wine :( my elderflower and sparkling water is not cutting it!

Perhaps he could give up drinking for the duration - really do him good too xxx

One lady I looked after was feasting on pate, stinky cheese and glugging wine when I visited her postnatally. She was breastfeeding so I told her that i hoped she wasn't up all night with a screaming baby who has indigestion. On my discharge visit she did say that both her and babe had indigestion so had modified her eating and drinking
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

I am sticking in underwire as long as possible. Not sure non-underwired would remotely contain my 34Gs! :o

Sorry if this is too personal but....has anyone else noticed any changes in their nipples? :o

SNAP. Staying in underwire bras as long as possible for the EXACT same reasons (same bra size and everything, how bizarre). :p Not feeling particularly uncomfortable in my normal bras yet, actually.

Haha, is anything too personal on this thread? :p I've not noticed any nipple changes yet - however I have noticed my breasts are firmer. Not bigger (thank goodness), just firmer. And occasionally rather painful.

Huge welcome to the thread, Peonie and time2deal! :T Congratulations to you both on your BPFs!

  • i know I haven't posted for a while but have been lurking. I've just had nearly the same situation as Miss_Imaginative .

Woke up at 3.30am with what felt like a pop then a big gush of blood. Que panic so OH phone nhs direct who advised us to go to a+e. In sheffield there are 2 hospitals but only one a+e. The epu isn't normally open on sundays so had to go to the other hospital.

Got assesed at 5.30am and then told I would have to wait for doctor. A nurse came at 9am who the took my blood pressure for the second time. At 10am the doctor came in and yet again took my blood pressure and told me it could be a threatened miscarrage and he was going to phone the other hosptial who told me to transfer me to them by ambulance to have an ultrasound.

A nurse then took my blood pressure AGAIN and took a urine sample for a pregnancy test while a junior doctor put me a canular in.

I then had to wait an hour after which I was transfered to another room to wait another hour. They then gave up and dialed a 999 one as they said I could be waiting all day and they had targets to meet.

All this time I repeatedly asked if I could have a drink to be told no as you might need an op, I did try to tell them that I would need a fuller bladder for the ultrasound but wouldn't listen and I was also getting quite dizzy from no food or drink for this long.

Two lovely ambulance men transferred me to the other hospital (after another blood pressure check) straight to the epu who told me they had been expecting me ages ago.

The epu then took my blood pressure again after another hour wait for a docotor and I had an internal.

She said my cervix is closed and no bleeding is round that area but can't find where the blood is comming from. I had no pain or clots with it. They have moved my 12 week scan from wednesday to tomorrow morning I can't fault the epu they were brilliant.

sorry for the long post but had a long day (oh and all the time my blood pressure was normal and lovely as they kept saying).
  • Hugs for everyone with bleeds- it is awfully scary but sounds like you have been well looked after! I have had some spotting and a heavier bleed, and all is going ok so far!

Big congrats to the newcomers to the thread  (OJ of course)

going by my last scan I am 10 weeks today. I definitely had a wardrobe crisis this morning, according to the scales I have only put on 2-3 lbs, but seem to have lost it from my bum and put it on around my middle! I couldn't fit into the first pair of jeans I tried on, and the second pair are hardly roomy!

I called into next today with a friend and bought three tunic tops in one size bigger than I usually wear- the are quite a floaty style and a stretchy material so should last a couple of months- I just need a couple of cardies and some new leggings in a bigger size and I should be ok for the time being. I am still trying to hide my pregnancy at work (and from family but I don't see them that often) and because the tunics are heavily patterned they will be quite good camouflage!

    it's hard work this is!

Hi ladies, only a few days til my scan.....so scared as only other time I have had a scan was with my miscarriage...and my due date for that baby is actually tomorrow.....:o

    Congrats to new ladies.

I am defo getting bigger although only put on 3lb so far but my normal jeans now don't fit.... I went into town today to look for some floaty dresses but couldn't find any! My best friend has lent me her maternity jeans but they are all to big really and the pair I did wear out today dug into my stomach.... not comfy!

I need to get fitted for a bra, OH did measure me and I am now apparantly a 36D instead of a 34C pre pregnancy but the 36D bras in Mothercare look massive!

Wearing cheapy 36d non wired bras from primark at moment.

Going to have to buy some stuff online, I hate clothes shopping at best of times so this trying to find maternity clothing malarkey is hell to me!

  • Daisie my nipples are always hard & quite dark.
Also the aerola is really dark too.
I can see the veins more so on the left boob than the right.
They feel like they weigh a tonne & oh agrees they have got bigger.

My under wired bras are starting to hurt so it will be granny ones for me sooner rather than later!

Thanks for adding us cmace. Peonie, I got EDD from http://www.fertilityfriends.co.uk/index.php?ac=ivf, using an EC date of 15/Jan.

My LMP was 1 Jan, and that comes up with the same date too. Was your LMP on 3 Jan? Perhaps you stimmed slightly shorter than I did.
  • Massive congratulations and welcome peonie and timetodeal - I also lurk on 12+ so great to see your fabulous news and lovely to see you both here.

Just bought 2 new cheapie asda bras this evening as gone up a cup size.. Hubby thought this was hilarious...

One of my early signs was blue veiny boobs, I'm also sure that my nipples have got bigger - eek!

Other than that all ok for now, 6wks tomorrow and still no sickness, trying not to worry though.
