Hi everyone!
I'm just dipping my toes into this thread as I got my BFP this morning. Got a very strong line so I think I'm okay. It puts me as 4+3 with an EDD of 7th January.
I've been feeling sick and crampy but I'm not sure what my next steps are? OH thinks I should wait until next saturday, take another test then book in with the docs but I think I'd be okay to do so from Tuesday?

Congratulations Lulu! :j lovely news
Depending on your area you can go via the GP or contact MW service directly. GP won't do anything other than fill in a form, HPTs are so accurate these days they don't test to confirm! You don't normally see the MW for booking in until 8-10 weeks, so there's no rush, unless you have any conditions you know need to be managed in the first trimester (eg I have hypothyroidism, which needs managing carefully in early pregnancy).Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
Welcome lulu :j
I struggled to get an appointment around my job as my surgery are rubbish like that, but the nurse I saw was lovely and she gave the midwife my number. I got a bounty pack from the surgery. My midwife then rang me and I have my booking in appointment next Thursday.
So I'd go and see GP asap. They won't retest you.0 -
DH & I are 8 weeks pregnant and due to morning sickness we have had to tell some family members earlier than planned.
Following an emotional over excited message from a great grandparent to be in particular who made me feel like i was just being a carrier for her to have a new baby i wish i'd just said it was food poisoning. She was asked polietly to not refer to it as her baby, so she has now gone round the rest of the family saying how evil i am and the rest of the family that side have sided with her and withdrawn all offers of support.
Is it that long ago that they have forgotton how sensative because of hormones we all are during these first 12 weeks or am i really just imaging all this? DH has just told them he doesnt care for their actions and we will manage with or without their support. I however am so very angry that they can attempt to sabatage what should be a happy time for us both through means of manipulations.
Its really stressed me out this weekend which has really increased my morning sickness and the fear of anything bad happening to the baby has increased ten fold.
Sorry for the long post I guess I just need to Rant it out the system.0 -
I'm between 7-8 weeks, so expect a due date mid December. works nicely for me spreading birthdays over the year as my 2 already were March and July babies0

Oh Wizzy that sounds like a horrible situation. You don't need that kind of negativity right now. Hopefully the family realise they're being silly and give you the support you need. If they don't then it just shows how much you don't need them in this journey.

I phoned my docs 2 days after we got BFP. At my surgery they don't bother booking you in with the GP, they ask when you'll be around 8 weeks gone and book you in with midwife. My appt is 21 May and it's dragging! Still feels a bit surreal but I'm getting plenty of early pg symptoms so feeling fairly comfortable everything is ok. Fx
Just phone your surgery and see what they say x0 -
Congratulations by the way
Thankyou for your kind words Lulu I think I have calmed down somewhat now and am actually appreciating that I won't have to much contact with the unsupportive ones.
Congrats to you on your BFPtoo. when I phoned the doctors surgery to ask the procedure for antenatal care as I was pregnant they just worked out when I would be 8-11 weeks pregnant and have booked me in with the midwife for a "Booking in appointment" which is apparently 90 mins long.
Quite excited to meet my midwife and was just very relieved I didn't have to have any appointments with my Dr as I think his Bedside manner is appaling.

Congrats to wizzy and Hannah.
Sorry to hear about your family though wizzy. It isn't the kind of thing you need at this already anxious time. Hopefully they will sort themselves out and apologise to you before the baby is born.
Has anyone had any food aversions or cravings yet? I've gone off eggs, but that's it so far, but just recently developed a passion for ice - cubes and lollies. It's not because I am hot either.
Nausea has really kicked in now, and after a two hour walk and a large subway, I had to have a lie down before dinner as shattered. It was meant to be a nap but my son had other ideas...0 -
Sorry to hear your family are being a pain Wizzy, that's rubbish
ignore them and focus on your little one x
We had a busy weekend, been feeling a bit ropey and really really tired, but no sickness yet still.
Diamond - I'm ok so far this time, but last time I went off yoghurt completely, it smelt off, even if it was a brand new pack. I love yoghurt, so I was really annoyed!Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160
