Rebekah - poor you, hopefully it's not the start of anything and it's just a one off.

ThinkPink - fingers crossed your colleague keeps it quiet. How many weeks are you now?
The nurses at my work are always talking about when I'll have a baby, I wouldn't be surprised if they had a sweepstake going. Little do they know!
  • I think she will.

I'm technically 11 +3, but going by my early scan I may be 9+6 although she did say baby catch up size wise by my 12 week scan, I think I'm probably about in the middle of these two.

Lol, as we were trying for quite a while and I was about to see a fertility specialist my coping strategy when asked about kids was always 'oh no, not for a couple of years yet', so I do think people will be surprised!

Oh no Rebekah, hope it was a one off and your feeling better now.x

I used to go with 'maybe next year after yet another holiday' seems to have worked so far.
When did you tell your manager?
I was hoping to wait till after a scan but I have my 6 monthly review next week and she's going to ask about the next six months in regards to courses and training. Plus one of the other consultants is trying to change my working hours against my will so may be useful in that respect. Decisions, decisions.
  • Urgh, today in the staff room I was nearly sick at the smell of warm will. Barf! They have it everyday so no idea why it took me by surprise today! I think I managed to escape without raising too many suspicions, but this paired with everything else...lol

    Can't wait to tell everyone!

Is anyone else doing the big reveal at Xmas?

I told my boss when I was about 9 weeks as I had had my private scan and just wasn't feeling myself so wanted to tell her so she was aware, plus that way if I need to work from home last minute she will know why and be understanding.

I'm hoping to as I will have had my scan by then so when I ring round the family to wish them a merry Christmas, I'm hoping all would have been well at the scan the day before and I can tell them. Not sure I will if I havent got to 12 weeks though (if the early scan date is correct I won't be 12 weeks so will probably wait for new years eve!!)
  • Mine will be less of an xmas surprise than a 'Happy 2nd/3rd week of January' surprise! By my LMP I'll be 12 weeks on the 11th, but I think I'll be less than that because I ov later.

So, it's the work xmas dinner tonight out in Manchester city centre. Handily because I was off with MS on Monday, I've just cited not being well as an excuse for not drinking. I think it's flying, but we'll see how many dodgy looks I get later...

    Room for a little one?
We got a TLP yesterday and it was confirmed by two good lines this morning - so excited but very nervous too!

Will give my consultant a call later as this will be our 3rd/4th pregnancy this year - all previous ones have resulted in miscarriage between 4-8.5 weeks. Consultant has been one of the leads in the Promise trial of progesterone for recurrent miscarriage and we are prime candidates for it.

Lovely to be able to join you and hope to be able to make it to the next thread this time.

    Love Gelly
