I can't believe I'm actually posting on here- but I got my bfp on Saturday (after 14 months of trying and extremely irregular cycles). I'm very excited but also very nervous and scared that it may not go to plan, so I thought I would say hello to you lovely ladies as I think I'm going to need someone to talk to over the next few weeks.

We are trying to keep this quiet for a while at the moment, I'm thinking of having an early scan (about 9 or 10 weeks) and then we may tell really close people and then we will tell everyone else after the 12 week scan providing all is well. Is anyone else keeping it all quiet?

think pink - welcome - yes we kept it quiet told close family and friends last weekend when I was 11+5 - our scan is tomorrow, if all is fine, I will then tell work and do a facebook announcement.


its hard work keeping it quiet esp if you don't feel well or are so happy you just want to tell people.

I know, not sure what to say if I start feeling ill at work- I guess if I have to I will have a quiet word with my boss. I think I'll be able to keep it quiet unless one particular person asks- then I may find it difficult!!

Got my BFP on Saturday after our first month TTC, little freaked out tbh

I've had to tell work already which I'm not too comfortable with but unfortunately there are aspects of my job which are too risky for a pregnant lady and I have to be moved to a different area straight away.
Anyone else been in this situation?

Hi welcome Ringtobe, Thinkpink and MrsO. Nice to have some new people here and congratulations on your pregnancies!

Ringtobe - i had a emcs so not quite the same as an elective but let me know if you have any questions about the section.

I have told my parents and some close friends as i think it is nice to have the support either way. Everyone knew last time as we were past the 12 week point but was nice to have that support from people although it was hard in some ways too.

I am 9w 5d and for the past couple of weeks I have had a small amount of brown discharge when I've wiped. It's been very similar to the very end of a period (sorry if tmi) and has only happened about 3 times. I haven't had any pain and it hasn't been red blood but do you think this could be normal?

Generally brown blood is old blood so i wouldn't worry but if you are maybe call midwife and ask?
