Devildolly - i think sometimes its good to have a little cry. I feel like you can't talk about it all the time so when you can its almost like a release.

I think the vitamins can affect the wee if you are taking any?

DHF - great news on the scan!

Hope you are ok after the accident Jedi.

I have added my scan date to the list, came through quick this time.
  • Knacked .com son was up at 5am this morning due to the clock change, hoping to get an early night tonight. Told close family and friends about pregnancy this weekend, it went well. So funny when I told friends today I dropped it into a conversation while we were playing the cube board game, it all went silent won't forgot the look for shock on one of my friends faces, it took them a while to realise I was telling the truth hehe

Ooh Bargain! I've been reading very good things about the Sleephead deluxe pod (for baby to sleep in). but they aren't cheap. Amazon are selling for £12 off atm (nearly the cheapest it has ever been), AND there is a spend £60 get £15 off promo on top! So £72 instead of £99. The promo is broken right now, but if you contact Amazon, they will adjust the price for you.
If you look on Ebay, they have a pretty good resale value, i've seen some used ones going for £60 odd pounds.

  • I wanted to come back to this thread to say thanks for everyone who took the time to reply to some of my questions, we went for our scan last Monday and even after 6-8 pregnancy tests being positive my wife has had a miscarriage which has been heart breaking but we are both very thankful we have a beautiful 7 yr old daughter that is the light of our lives.

All the best to all you ladies who are striving for a child I wish you every success.

  • Just update the list with my scan date.

Had my booking in appt yesterday. All went well. The midwife didn't have the full hospital notes so did what she could on the computer. It was the same MW as last time and she is brilliant. She could see from my notes what happened last time. She then said she would do the minimum at this appt and then lets get through the scan and do the rest afterwards at a double appt. Really happy with this as I am not sure I wanted to go over delivery locations and options just yet.

Also had a student MW there, and I was the first person she had to take blood from. Luckily I am not squeamish about needles and let her happily jab away, but she was brilliant and actually better than some nurses that have taken blood from me.

I have a dinner dance weekend this weekend which will be a nice break, but the no-drinking thing will be tricky. OH's brother and wife are coming and I have already played the 'infection, on antibiotics, cant drink' card in front of them already this month. Maybe I can milk that once more, then go into hiding for three more weeks.

Anyone else crazy and done most of the christmas shopping like me already?

Sorry to hear about the news LnL.

    Hi all :)

I already have a 14 month old son, but recently found out I'm already pregnant with baby number 2  (we were trying, but happened much more quickly than I anticipated).

Had my first midwife appointment yesterday and she was beyond amazing, much better than the midwife I had before. It's been decided I'll be under consultant's care due to everything that happened during my last birth, and the care following. I've also been told I can't have any more natural babies, so it's going to be an elective C-section this time too (I'll be looking out for top tips on this - I am absolutely bricking it already).

EDD 02.06.2015 (though delivery will be around 38 weeks).

    Liven'learn.
So sorry to hear your news. Look after yourselves xx

    Devildolly,
Glad your midwife session was good. Makes a difference. I had a student midwife for my booking in, and she did great at finding my elusive vein and getting blood.
If you dont want to use infection, you could try painkillers not mixing well with booze. I've tried that one, and if you really wanted to throw them off, you could say you tried having a few drinks whilst on them earlier in the week, and it made you feel really ill... :)
