Am I the only one who has mixed feelings about telling people?
On the one hand, its going to be great not having to be a hermit and lie to friends and family (was invited out tonight to pub but had to say im busy. OH is still going). Also, im looking forward to everyones responses when we tell them, especially with OH family where it will be the first grandchild.
But, im also not looking forward to the fussing and now all anyones going to talk to me about is babies (like when I was getting married I got so fed up about talking about weddings and how the planning was going). I feel like not too much has changed so far but once everyone knows it all will!
I hate being fussed over and will get annoyed very quickly if people keep asking me how I am!
Im probably just being silly but I just so such mixed feeling about telling people.
I felt exactly like you - I didn't want to become the focus of attention, but it has actually been ok and at times really nice. It is lovely to know that people care and the majority of people just say 'Congratulations' and leave it at that.
However I have noticed that I am ceasing to exist as an individual; all conversations are now about the impending baby, how do I think I will cope? how long will I have off, will I come back full timeI have found that I can quickly redirect the conversation if it's getting too much or too personal depending on who is asking.

Your second point is what I worry about. Ill probably really enjoy talking about it for the first couple of weeks with having to be so tight lipped for so long but I think ill get fed up as soon as I start feeling like a broken record just talking about the same thing over and over again. But your right, it shouldn't take too much to redirect the conversation when it gets too much.0 -
Oh goodness, after 2 days of no sickness back in work today & was sick in the car park before I made it into work! I hid behind a pillar but still, very embarrassing! Have felt rubbish all day & really tired, in till 9pm & not quite sure how I'm going to stay awake!0

Sorry to hear you're still being sick Princess, hope you get through the rest of the day ok!
I've been the same milly and danielley - I haven't told many people but the people I have told now talk non-stop to me about babies! I don't mind it too much, but I do get slightly irritated when they ask personal questions like 'Will you breast feed?' or when they ask me about how long I'll be taking off work, when will I go back, will it be full or part time... I don't know yet, I've still not actually come to terms with the fact I'm pregnant yet!! I shouldn't complain though, I'm pleased they are excited and I know they will spoil he or she rotten when they arrive!0 -
Ooooh! Dont know if any of you use la redoute, but they just sent an email with a BOGOF code, so you can buy anything, and get one item free for each you buy. If you pair the items by similar price in your basket using the up/down arrows, it maximises the discount. They have quite alot of maternity stuff esp in sizes under Uk20. The code is 5459.Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

Still working for me princess Kate, try following the link on the front page to the offer and it went on automatically, and perhaps try filling your basket before using Quidco, then clicking through quidco, it re-opens your website and your basket is still there. hope it works.0
