Carrot, that's great news from your appointment. At least you know you will be dealing with someone good!
I mentioned to my head of department the other day that I'll need a cover lesson due to a midwife appointment. Her response was to say she didn't know I was trying, and she didn't seem impressed. I wasn't aware I had to inform my boss that I was having unprotected sex!!!!
Millysg1, which area do you live in? I won't get my midwife appointment until I'm 10.5 weeks, and I guess they won't book the scan until after that. It feels like forever. At least being back at school makes the days go so quickly! I was supposed to have an early scan as I might be a month further ahead, but didn't hear anything back.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
My GP wouldn't see me and I couldn't self register with local maternity unit until 6 weeks. But that is my local area and from what other people have said they've been able to register straight away and get appointments booked in for scans and first appointment straight away. I think my area is slow and I know they are VERY VERY understaffed. (my cousin is a local midwife)
Sorry to hear your still not getting anywhere, hope everything is going well otherwise and i'll keep my fingers crossed for you

Welcome boat girl and congrats! Hoping bean stays sticky for you.
Glad docs are being proactive Carrot, not long till your nxt scan, hopefully each week is bringing more reassurance for you.
For those waiting to see MW/scan dates, I didn't see midwife till 10 weeks and had a scan letter through within 2 days. It seems once you're in the 'system' things kinda seem to get moving. Hope this helps x0 -

Hello Pinkshoes.
I am within Poole in Dorset. ive known for 5 weeks now which to be honest has gone pretty quickly, so waiting 2 more weeks for an apointment and 4 for my scan seems a bit better knowing im past the half way point of waiting!
I have wondered if im 4 weeks further along becasue all my symptoms seems to come 4 weeks early but its probably just all in my head and ill never know for sure until the scan so decided to just go with it!0 -

warning: pity party ahead!
I'm fed up.
I'm tired of puking and not wanting to eat or drink anything. Even if I drink too much at once I'm sick. I'm tired of having to sip drinks that don't taste right - because nothing tastes right.
I'm tired of feeling nauseous all day.
I'm tired of being bloated and feeling uncomfortable in my clothes (especially waist bands).
I'm tired of not being able to get comfortable at night.
I feel like a toddler having a tantrum, stamping my feet and screaming "it's not fair". (:rotfl:)
Then I feel guilty because I should be grateful for (a) not having things as bad as others in terms of sickness etc (b) getting pregnant in the first place.
And then I just sit and cry.
sigh
I hope everyone has a really good day.
(and I've just noticed the time, I'm supposed to be at work in 4 minutes and I'm still sitting here (crying) in bed) D'ohRock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock0 -

Pregnancy is sometimes really hard work, it's different for everyone. Hopefully aunty pickle your symptoms will start to improve about 12 weeks, I would try and keep focused on that, these symptoms won't last forever.
Crazy to read on my preg app that my baby to be is only the size of a mustard seed, I am always amazed by the human body.
Went to my gps today and filled out a form for midwife, apparently booking in appt is between 8-10 weeks. They also run an early pregnancy class at my local hospital and I will be texted about it, anyone else have this in their area? It didn't exist when I had my first.
I remember my booking in appointment with my first baby my midwife scared me to death when she asked if I would like a home birth, where as this time around I am considering it.:jMarried 16/07/2010, ds1 born 11/08/12, baby due 08/05/20150 -

OH no Aunty Pickle, poor thing.
Don't feel guilty for not being grateful. Yes it could be worse but that doesn't mean you're supposed to enjoy your symptoms.
Try to concentrate on the positives of the situation and know that the worse the symptoms are the more healthy the pregnancy usually is (so I’ve heard).
It’s not nice but I hear most these symptoms are first trimester based and shouldn't be so bad after 12 weeks. You are a week behind me and I must admit I feel better this week than I did last .Less bloaty at least but then I haven't had any vomiting yet.
And you can blame a lot of your upset to the crazy hormones. Accept that its ok the be upset and cry. Let it out and then when you feel a bit better afterwards, tell yourself, it WILL be worth it!
And it really will be worth it!0
