  • I was never actually sick with my first just felt nausea not sure if that's better or not. Really wanting to call the gp to get into the system and on track for midwife and scan but think it's still very early, only day 29 of my cycle today. When did other people call?
With my first baby they only fit me in for my 12 week scan at 13+1 and then after scan told me I was 14 weeks.

  • Hello all newbies :)

millysg1 any luck on dates yet ?

    :)

Hello midnight_ninja. Thank you for thinking about me!

No, no news from widwife at all yet. 8.5 weeks pregnant now and still waiting to hear from Midwife about first visit and scan dates. Ive decided if I don't hear anything by the weekend Im going to call up on Monday and see if they can let me know when I might hear something. Ill be 9 weeks by then and I need at least 1 weeks notice to get time off work and if im suppose to have my booking in visit at week 10 then I need to know soon.

Its so frustrating, really thought I would have spoken to someone by now. At least there is the internet and this wonderful forum to find answers to my many many questions! And to help understand what I should and shouldn't be doing!

My GP wouldn't see me and I couldn't self register with local maternity unit until 6 weeks. But that is my local area and from what other people have said they've been able to register straight away and get appointments booked in for scans and first appointment straight away. I think my area is slow and I know they are VERY VERY understaffed. (my cousin is a local midwife)
  • Hi ladies,
    Welcome to the newbies.

I have had my booking in appointment this morning. She was great and I really liked her. Unfortunately (fortunately?) I am going to be consultant led though so she said its unlikely I'll see her again. But she said I "struck gold" with my consultant so that's good.

I got to talk to her about the bleeding which was good. She didn't seem too worried but from now on I have to go to a&e every time with my paperwork. This could get very tiring with all the bleeding I'm getting.

Well feels like the first step is over and underway with this whole process. Next scan is next Thursday.

Surprisingly I've lost weight???? I look and feel like I've put on but not so apparently.

Just to say for those worried about when they will get appointments - I'm 11 weeks and just had MW appt. My NHS scan is at 12+6 weeks. Received my appts in the mail at about 9.5weeks.

Hope you all have a lovely day
  • Hi Ladies, can I join you?
I was last on this thread in April when unfortunately suffered a late miscarriage between 14 and 15 weeks due to a chromosome problem.
Got my bfp this morning and hopefully this one will be a better pregnancy, edd is 11/05/15 which will be my 34th birthday! I do have a little girl already who will be 3 in November.
I hope you are all well and will read back to get to know you all xx
  • Hi all, nothing new to report from me but just wanted to say hi to all the new people.

Managed to speak to my specialist on Friday night and sorted all the medication issues out and I have my booking appointment on Saturday.

I am 10 weeks today so feeling quite good about things at the moment. Not long before the big scan now!!

    Have a good day everyone
  • welcome boat girl!

whoever was asking about apps (sorry, I've forgotten!!!), I've got the free version of "Pregnancy (+ health & parenting)" it's the one with a picture of a foetus head and arms/hands on a pink background.
I really like it because it has a daily blog and weekly info section, lots of images and you can use it to track your weight and other stuff.

    Hope that helps

Hope everyone is ok and dealing with sore boobs/sickness/nausea and whatever else!!!

  • I am finding it frustrating nobody knowing (apart from dh)and waiting for appointments and I have only known I was pregnant a since Sunday haha that's why I came here to be able to speak to other people going thru the same thing.

I called my gps and you have to go in and fill a form out which I will do at some point over the next week.

Thanks for the app reco, I have downloaded it.

Welcome boat girl, I remember you getting your BFP in the ttc thread before so I'm so happy you've got another BFP - I really hope this is a sticky one for you and you have a trouble-free pregnancy.

midnight_ninja - I'm so sorry I missed you off the last list, I had put you on the previous one but copied and amended an earlier version so missed you off. Apologies to anyone else I missed, please let me know if you spot a mistake :o

Lovely to hear from you Carrot, I'm glad your appointment went well and they are taking your bleeding seriously. It can only be a good thing that you're seeing a consultant as it shows they will be keeping a close eye on you.

I also use the Pregnancy app, I think it's free for the first trimester then you have to pay a small fee, but most of the reviews say its worth paying for because there is so much information. I've also got What to Expect, another free app. It's layout isn't as user friendly as the Pregnancy one and it's an American app so some of the things aren't relevant, but what I've kept it for is that there is a short information video to watch each week of your pregnancy, telling you and showing you what is happening. It's only a couple of minutes long but its fascinating, me and OH watch it before we go to bed on a Sunday :)
