welcome crazycatlady! Congratulations, I didn't se my doctor, I spoke to the surgery & they said I just needed to pop in to fill in a form & then they made an appt with the midwife. You may want to see your doctor because of your history tho, I think it is up to you.
Hope everyone has had a nice weekend, we have, went shopping in town yesterday & for lunch in a lovely french bistro, went to my mum for lunch today & there was a lot of baby talk which was nice but I still ind it quite surreal. I guess until you have a bump its all a bit weird to get your head around that there really is a baby in there! I've had a stinking cold since friday, been feeling pretty sorry for myself, very achey & bunged up! Taken paracetamol a couple of time to try & make me feel a bit better, the midwife told me it was fine but I still don't really like taking it.
Going to be heading off to bed soon, very sleepy & got a busy week in work this week. I work in the large hospital in Cardiff & we have the NATO summit going on this week, fingers crossed nothing bad kicks off but we have to be prepared just incase! The amount of armed police walking around town was really scary, never seen anything like that before!
Hope everyone is well! x0 -
Thanks Princess Kate, will give them a call in the morning

Hi crazycatlady!!! (love your name!)
welcome and I hope you stay and graduate on to the other threads with no problems.
I think things vary even between English GP surgeries so it may be best to phone up your surgery and just ask what normally happens. At mine, you get written in a book and the midwife contacts you when you're around 8 weeks - I'm still waiting to be contacted but then I'm only just 7 weeks!
AFM I am able to eat more - hooray :j ! and I think I am not losing any more weight - even more hooray :j !
I am liking mini-cheddars for some reason!!! And cheesy pasta is definitely a life-saver!! Ginger nuts have done nothing for me at allRock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock0 -
Thanks Aunty Pickle (love your name too!) Am going to phone them in the morning, really hope I can see someone soon- feel like I'm going bonkers already and it's only been 5 days lol I'm not the most patient of people so will need to learn patience in this pregnancy
So glad I've found this thread, it's lovely to read how others are getting on. I don't normally head out of the debt free wannabe threads but there is a big world on here, think I'm gonna get lost!

aw PrincessKate, it's not nice feeling poorly at the best of times is it? I know what you mean about it seeming surreal though, I've told OH that I don't even want to think about actually having a baby at the end of all this because it freaks me out too much :rotfl:Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock0

Delurking.....
Crazycatlady, im in Scotland too. I went to my gp but didn't need to. The surgery gave me a number for the community midwife and I self referred to them but it will vary from surgery to surgery depending on where you are located.
I had a nosy at your list, it's quite scary that everyone on it now is due more than a year after I got my BFP! 6 weeks 3 days and counting....
Good luck everyone.

hi Louise!
welcome
yeah, i've been feeling pretty rough. keep waking up and hoping "today will be better".... but it isn't!!! I keep telling myself it's a strong implantation causing the symptoms. Not sure if that's true or not but that's what I'm sticking to!Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock0 -
Hello everyone can I be added to the list only 27 day of my cycle and had a positive test yesterday. edd 13.05.14 will be testing again tomorrow to make sure, have been feeling a bit sick today which might be preg related. I have a little boy and was on this thread a couple of years ago when I was expecting him :0)
This is a difficult time in pregnancy, very slow going waiting for first bloods, scan midwife appt etc.
All the best to everyone, going to buy myself some ginger chews this week to help with the nausea I found them very useful in my first preg. If anyone is interested you can get them from holland and Barrett.
