  • Tilly - ah yes, I think we might be in the same boat re Chronic condition! nice to speak to someone else in that boat because I can't find much about being pregnant with it (which is not terrifying) on the internet.

My specialist emailed and wants to call me today too so maybe we can cover everything on the phone. At least he is finally listening to me, I think he thinks I am ok because I am not really one to complain or ask many questions. I just do as I am told by him ha ha but this is far more important than just me and my condition now. I have another person to think about now (hopefully)

Princess - I hope you feel better soon. I feel sick when I don't eat for some reason which is not helping my weight much ha ha

    have a god day everyone.

  • Are you a teacher? Just with you saying you're back at work on Monday! That must be a shock to the system if you've had six weeks off!
Yes in a secondary school :) I absolutely love it but I'm already worried about when to tell my Department and Headteacher. I think I'm going to wait until I've had another scan before I do, plus I need to think a bit more of when to take maternity etc. Ideally I'd leave at the end of the Spring term but I don't know if I'll manage working a full timetable until the 2nd April when DD is the 9th! It would mean I get an extra 2 weeks paid though, so will have to see how I go.

    Hi MissyMoo

When you next update the list could you please change my EDD to 1st April 2015 and my scan date as 10/09/14.

I met my midwife today, she was really lovely and I feel so excited now!

Hope you are all looking forward to the weekend.

  • ah danielly that's great that the midwife was lovely. I am sure that makes all the difference.

    Have a great weekend

Thank you for the lovely welcome everyone :)

I've used the NHS calculator and we'll go with an EDD of 02/05/15 which makes me 5 weeks! Very confusing that it counts the two before you were actually pregnant! Please add me to the lists, no scan dates as yet but first appointment with the midwife is 16/09/14.

I agree that it is good to have women in a similar position to talk to. I've been having allsorts of aches and pains so it's good to know this is normal. I'm also extremely tired, luckily i'm off work this week but will be a bit of a struggle when I go back on Monday.

I too am worried about telling work. I have just been given a promotion a month ago so I don't think they'll be too impressed. :(

Hi MissyMoo, please add me to your list , midwife on the 29/09/14 and first scan on the 9/10/14 , EDD 22/04/15.

Its great to have support on here until you can start telling everyone , i have been really tired already and feeling ikky most days but no sickness yet, not enjoying food as much at all , hope this passes , and having trouble trying to sleep, any advice ?

Aunty Pickle thanks for the due date calculator link :)

millysg1 sorry your having to wait for dates , i wasn't sure how it all worked and was surprised to be given appointments , thought id have to see a doctor first for some reason :rotfl:

Also nervous about telling work due to restructures coming soon , dont want to be ruled out of jobs :(

    Hope everyone is well :D
  • Wowsers this threads got busy!! Lovely to see so many newbies! Welcome, hope you're all doing ok so far

I'm going to be rude; I've read back but can't remember a blooming thing!! :rotfl:

I had an emergency scan at the EPU yesterday morning and thankfully everything looks good!! perhaps not the best emoticon to use!! :D They didn't do all the measurements just checked everything was ok but I think my EDD will be moved to 26/03/15 and I had a scan letter this morning for 18/09 :T it seems I've gone from waiting for ages to happen and now it finally is!!

Secret is also out at work as I was overheard talking to my boss but I feel sooo much better having seen a little person on screen!

Also told ds last night and his little face lit up! It was adorable! He kept looking from me to OH saying 'baby' and stroking my tummy! He's declared he wants to cuddle it and sit baby on his lap, actually made my heart melt! Altho he's also demanded he wants 'baby now!!'

Gotta go tell my mum tomorrow, don't think she's gonna react as well unfortunately

Wow I've waffled! Hope everyone's doing ok, hugs to anyone that needs them and congrats to all newbies and scan peeps.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend x
  • I've added you to the lists midnight_ninja :) This thread is great for chat and reassurance, especially as you say that many of us haven't told many other people yet, so it's great to be able to talk with others in the same boat. I've also struggled to sleep. Well, I sleep, but I keep waking up and I'm fidgeting so much. My poor OH keeps getting woken up by me so we're both not getting much sleep. I think I'm going to try using pillows or cushions for support, although I don't actually know where to put them :p I've just heard it helps :o If you find a solution, let me know too!

I've updated your details now Always_Alone :)I'm sorry you had to got to the EPU, but then I'm glad you found out everything is ok! Your son's reaction sounds so sweet, how old is he? Good luck telling your mum, always horrible when you're not close to a family member for whatever reason or are worried about their reactions, we're a bit like that with my OH's side of the family. Who knows when we'll actually tell them :o

    Enjoy the weekend everyone else!

    Hi everyone

I'd love to come and join you all if that's ok? Got my BFP on Tuesday, think I'm only 4 weeks and 2 days. So so excited but really nervous too as had 2 miscarriages last year but have everything crossed for this one!

    EDD is 7th May 2015 :)

Do I need to go to the doctor? Hear that many people just go to midwife but I don't know how that works? Do I make appointment through doctors? Am clueless lol Am in Scotland as well if there is any difference?

Looking forward to all the baby related chat :)
