Haven't posted for a very long time but have very recently found out I am pregnant with #2 so am back here.

Currently in shock and panic about how I will cope with 2 but I'm sure I'll get there.

Hi everyone, not really sure what is happening at the moment but I'm pretty sure its not good.


I guess to begin at the start I have a gorgeous little boy who is 3 and was a 'perfect' pregnancy, no real sickness etc, normal delivery and everything was fine.


I found out I was pregnant in Jan of this year with our second after 6 months of trying, I was under a lot of stress at the time with moving house and a family member dying and started to have a brown discharge which turned into blood over about 2 weeks. Was in and out of hospital for a further 2 weeks with blood tests and internal scans. They could never find anything but the hcg was rising everytime. They told me my options were surgery or methotrexate. I went with the injections as at only 29 I didn't want to lose a tube and lower my chances of getting pregnant again.


We waited the 3 months and got pregnant there again in May in the first month of trying, we were over the moon! Sent in to the EPC at 6 weeks due to the previous ectopic and they said I was scanning 5w6d and there was no heartbeat so I had to go back in a week to re-scan. A week later I got scanned again and they said I measured 6w5d and could see 'cardiac activity'. Great news until I went back this morning which should have been around 9-10 weeks and they couldn't really see much, another internal scan showed no sign of a heartbeat and I was only measuring about 7w2d with the sac about 8 weeks. She wants me to come back on the 4th Aug for another scan to see if anything has happened.


I just don't know what to think now, I'm trying to accept that the baby has died as the odds are high but she was saying that they maybe measured the whole thing last time and not just the baby and so got dates etc mixed up but I just find that very doubtful. I have had no bleeding or pain.


Sorry for the massive ramble but I didn't want to leave anything out. Has anyone had something similar happen?

Sorry to hear about troubles with scans Ruth. Can't offer any advise sorry but fingers crossed for you.


In our news, the wife is more or less sure she can feel "flutters" and her bump is already starting to show, this is odd because we are only expecting her to only be 10+4, they say don't expect being able to feel movement until ~16w or maybe slightly because of previous pregnancy and knowing what to "look" out for.


However we could be 4 or even 8 weeks out with dates (we had been trying for a couple of month before we got a positive on the test, but she reported light bleeding so we assumed it wasn't to be until she was late, so it could be that she had bled for what ever reason but was actually pregnant....). Wont find out for another 2 weeks as her dating scan is only booked for 8th Aug (12+4)

SplanK - Some people can feel flutters at 10 weeks, especially with their second. Most cannot feel anything until at least 16 weeks though. I felt Dale at 14 weeks, even though my midwife at the time didn't believe me.

My 12 week scan date finally came through the post, 20 August. I'll be 12+5 by my dates then.

Would anyone like for me to make and keep up with a list kind of like we did on the ttc board?
