Oh my so pleased other people have difficult families lol. My parents are quite difficult, their way or no way. In laws generally ok.

I will type it up at some point but for now I need a shower and my bed. My parents to make me feel like I am walking on egg shells.

I must say I didn't want people to stay in my house after I hay my first lo and I wouldn't this time. You need time to do what you need when you need it. People popping in can be too much at times. I was very insistent on this last time and this has now caused me grief this time but I will explain another time :)
  • Peak week for nausea -hard to say. Sick as a dog from about 7/8 weeks until 15 weeks I'm afraid. Trip to Barcelona cured mine! or it was coincidental. n'ah, mustbe Barcelona. Ironically of the 3 times I have actually been sick all were in the 2nd trimester the most recent being a fortnight ago.

Alice - having been a nightmare through our wedding planning, my mother seems to have calmed down. However what you are describing is exactly the kind of thing she was doing then - very self centered. It was a rocky year but at least it seems to have changed things for now. However it involved truth telling and periods of not talking to me so it was not easy.

Its a relief to hear all the difficult family stories, glad its not just mine.

Freshstart no advice to offer, hope everything will be OK.

I had an irrational night, woke crying and thinking the worse for no reason. I just want to get to a point of no worrying, though not sure that ever happens

Peak weeks for nausea...I think for me it was probably around 7-8 weeks. I can't really remember. The first trimester was just vomit, vomit, vomit! I am maybe an exception though as I am now 22+1 and still being sick most days....eep!

    Morning Everyone

First post in here as I just got my BFP this morning!!!

We only started trying this month so can't quite believe I'm here already. Just praying now that things go as they should.

My situation is a bit of a strange one too, my husband is in the forces and we are being posted to Cyprus in August. At the moment, I don't qualify for Forces Medical care and won't until we arrive in Cyprus. All being well, I think I should be due a scan round about the time we are due to leave which might make things a bit more complicated. Trying not to stress about it just yet as I've only just had a BFP and so much can still happen.

As for telling people, my husband doesn't want to tell anyone til after the 12 weeks. However in just over a month my uncle is getting married and my whole family is flying down for the wedding. If I'm not drinking without a reason I know my family will all be super suspicious... Also thinking I might like to tell my Dad on Father's Day...

My MIL is hard work. She lives at the opposite end of the country, but I know as soon as she finds out she will be on the phone every day, husband keeps joking if we wait til we get to Cyprus to tell her she will be on the first flight over... Not sure I can handle that...

Sorry for the essay on my first post here, so many things now going through my head...

Hope to get to know some of you better as time goes on :) xxx

Wow Paige congratulations! You were lucky it happened so fast! No advice about telling people, guess it is up to you whether you are happy to tell your family, however depends how many family members you want to know so soon and how close you are.

Toooldforthis are you experiencing many symptoms? I am finding time is really dragging, my scan is a week before yours and seems to be taking forever to arrive.

Hope everyone else is OK, Alice hope your feeling better now

Tia86... symptoms seem to come and go. .. am exhausted and just want to sleep I get nausea around tea time and boobs are sore .... I got to 12 weeks once before and the days before the scan all symptoms disappeared and then we got the bad news which is why I am still petrified... I'm the wrong side of 40 which doesn't help either lol
    How are you doing? X

After my initial post yesterday, once husband came to, he was desperate to phone his parents to tell them, but I convinced him to at least wait until I've seen a Dr. All we have at the moment is poas!!

I phoned the surgery this morning, apparently I have to go round and fill in loads of forms before getting an appointment with a midwife. Won't be able to do that until Friday as I don't want to be taking time off work just yet...

My boss has been going on this morning about how convinced she is that one of her daughter in laws is pregnant... I was ready to burst!! But didn't, not yet...

Still in a state of shock I think, neither husband or I ever dreamt it would happen so quickly - 3 months ago we weren't even married or going to Cyprus, now everything is coming at once!!

Love it and keeping everything crossed it all goes to plan...

Anyone any advice on an excuse for not drinking at a wedding this weekend? It's with friends who won't believe I've chosen not to... Am thinking some kind of antibiotics are needed... Such a bad liar tho, just hope husband doesn't get drunk n blab!!!
