Tia86... symptoms seem to come and go. .. am exhausted and just want to sleep I get nausea around tea time and boobs are sore .... I got to 12 weeks once before and the days before the scan all symptoms disappeared and then we got the bad news which is why I am still petrified... I'm the wrong side of 40 which doesn't help either lol
    How are you doing? X

It sounds like things are going OK so far though I can understand your worries. I am fine physically, no symptoms and 11 weeks tomorrow. Definitely have a large belly though and can't get into my work trousers. I just can't wait until my scan next week, I feel so worried that something is wrong but have no reason for thinking this, my OH thinks I am being ridiculous and should consider myself lucky about lack of symptoms.

Paige hope you get your midwife appointment soon, I would go for the antibiotics excuse

    Not drinking excuses:

    1) Antibiotics
    2) Recovering from a stomach bug - alcohol flares up the symptoms so you don't want to risk it away from home. People will stop asking questions as no-one wants to know about that!
    3) Hungover from night before - feeling queasy
    4) Fake to an extent and then pretend it's set off some symptoms i.e. order lemonade and fake it's a vodka. Have a glass of wine, don;t drink it, pretend it's your second (get husband to minesweep yours); order shots of water
    5) Cystitis - gets worse when you drink alcohol
    6) Thrush - ditto. The advantage of 5 and 6 is that they are embarrassing so no one asks more!

Congratulations Paige Turner, and welcome to the group. I'll see if I can't dig out our latest list for you to join.

Good tips there lilmissreading! Can you go for the designated driver excuse Paige, or are you staying over?

I had to tell a few people at work about the pregnancy today, after fainting and a first aider being called. They had a fair idea anyway! OH is a bit annoyed that other people know before our parents, but I couldn't exactly say nothing to the first aider.

6 days til the scan, so will hopefully have good news to share with the family then. Still impatient, but it's getting closer :j

    Oh my god!!!

I am the first one on the list. I will be reaching 12 weeks tomorrow and scan is on Monday 09th June. Hope that everything goes well.

I still do not show anything and fit into my work trousers fine.

Currently Ofsted inspection going on in my work place so a bit stressed about it. I can relax more once it comes to Friday I think.

    Yay

Thanks for all the suggestions re not drinking... I have already volunteered to be designated driver and husband txt everyone last night to offer lifts, just said I was on antibiotics... He is away on a course now til Friday so would like me to have a bit more of a story ready by the time he comes home... TBH I don't care what people think, I'm not announcing a pregnancy at only 4 weeks gone, it's just silly! Hopefully, even if people are suspicious, they will respect that we don't want to confirm it.

Was reading online that apparently my little bean is only the size of a poppyseed, as you can barely see one of those, I'm really quite nervous and feeling vulnerable at the mo. I know husband is desperate to tell people but I'm not, until I'm happier that everything is going ok. These few weeks are going to draaaaag!!

Paige Turner - I reckon it's ok for people to suspect you're pregnant, as long as they don't ask you directly and respect your privacy! (People have been asking me if I'm pregnant/ congratulating me on my non-existent pregnancy ever since I got marrried.)

I think our little grain (started calling it a grain when it was grain of rice size) is 4.5cm now - not big. My maternity exemption certificate for prescriptions arrived today in the post; it's nice to get these little milestones.

6 days and counting til the scan on Monday. Ours are the same day Loveactually - what time is yours?
