I had my scan on Friday and everything is well dated correctly at 10 + 2. It can't be a full scan as I did not reach 12 weeks yet as NHS calculated my dates incorrectly and did not change even after a mention from me.

Anyhow I will get to see the bub again so my next scan is on 09 June.

On this Fridays scan we could actually see the shape of baby previously it was just a bean. But the baby was sleeping so no movement any ideas how I can wake the baby up for my next scan date it's in morning at 08:40.

Loveactuallymy baby was asleep for my 12 week scan (which was really 13 weeks) and the sonographer kept jabbing me really hard with the handheld thingy to try and wake him up! I have an anterior placenta so maybe he didn't even feel the jabbing as it didn't have much effect! In the end she sent me off to have a wee and he woke up after that but actually behaved like a baby who had just woken up, doing big stretches etc. The sonographer said they only sleep for short stretches anyway so probably would have woken up before the scan was over.

We had a scan at 9 weeks and he was awake for that and quite active.

I've not posted for ages as been feeling too ill. Really sorry to read your news Gelly.

*delurking* apple juice or orange juice (or something sugary) about 30 mins before your scan.

    Have a little walk around.

In my 20 weeks scan I had to lift my bottom up and jiggle my hips around on the bed! (haribo clearly didn't work for me!)

    Cough.

Remember - worst case scenario is you have to go back (hassle) and you get more chances to see your baby. However for the 12 week, mine was sleeping in the right place for them to take all the measurements easily. Can be unhelpful if they move too much.

Gelly - if you still lurk at all the miscarriage thread on here can be very helpful if/whenever you want it. So sorry to hear your news for you and yours.

Also delurking .... Like others have said, they say sugar and a cold drink is good to get baby moving. Mind you, you can go too far the other way! At my 12 week scan, baby was dancing around and doing somersaults like an absolute loony. My scan ended up taking an hour and twenty minutes and she eventually had to go to an internal scan to try and get the right measurements, as baby just would not stop moving. So maybe don't eat quite so much chocolate as I did just before my scan :rotfl:
  • Morning ... back from hospital all ok today measuring 9+4 just need to make it to the next scan at 12 weeks .... still dont want to get excited given my history bit every day is a bonus .
    Hugs to all xx
