Hello my lovelies,
Just a quick update - back from the GP and have got an EDD of 04/01/15 - eeeek!!!
Still super early but have to go in to see Midwife in 2 weeks for early checks including thyroid because of the last miscarriage.
Mentioned about the spotting at the weekend and she confirmed what we thought, that it might be something, it might be nothing but nothing could be done about it and it's nature - we both agree but it's still so worrying.
We might get an early scan but are being referred to the midwifery team and they will decide and let us know - it probably won't be super early, maybe around 10-12 weeks so we shall see what's decided and then go from there re a private early scan.
Starting to get a bit real again now :j

Great new Gelly xxx
So just back from seeing my New MW she was really nice
It seems that my SPD has started alreadyI had it with DD2 and was signed off from 28weeks as my pelvis totally displaced and that was why she was born by sunroof !
Apparently if you had it once it will start earlier next next and be worse !!! Hope to god it can't get worse then I had it with dd2 as I was on crutches with daily physio and nothing helpedIf you can think it........it will happen0 -
Thanks to all the ladies who put weeks you had your early scans...been looking through my bank account again and I could probably afford two scans if I avoid buying any other luxuries this month...just got to convince my OH now. Am not too sure of the dates which is also why I would like the scan to get a rough idea - my cycles have been irregular so not too sure what to go on.
Yay Gelly for your EDD, will be an exciting new year for you!!
Tink glad your new midwife is nice. I don't know what SPD is but sounds painful, hope you manage ok with it0 -

Hope you don't think I'm cheeky but when I first found out I was pg I had spotting and cramps which turned out to be implantation bleed and Inbedding cramps. But I rang the epu who saw me right away for scans twice.
If you really need reassurance, what's to stop you calling your epu and saying you've had cramps? It's not like they will want proof.
I know it's a bit naughty but we pay enough into the nhs to warrant one little scan0 -

So sorry to disagree with one of my thread buddies! But....having just had a horrible experience of quite a lot of bleeding at 17 weeks and having to wait from Thursday to Tuesday for a scan because they are so busy...please think carefully about trying to get a scan for no 'real' reason (I know worrying is really scary but I mean, without physical symptoms). It is terrible to have to wait ages when you are so worried because you are bleeding and I would hate to think I and others like me have to wait because there are people using the scan slots who don't actually 'need' them for a physical reason (though like I said I know worrying is very real, I was very worried for the first twelve weeks too!)
Hope no one minds me saying this, I really don't want to offend anyone. Has just been a horrible experience having to wait to be scanned after second trimester bleeding and I know they are already over stretched and under resources. Really sorry - hope no one gets offended0 -
Monty thanks for the suggestion but I don't think I could do that. Like daisy said there are lots of people who need a scan and I would hate to make them wait for my general anxieties which I expect most people have. I would also worry it would turn into a cry wolf situation and that something bad would happen.
Tink that doesn't sound good, how old are your other children? Sounds like you will need lots of rest0 -
