Hello! So today went so well. We were basically silent all morning as we were both tense, and got to FMC at 12.30.

The doctor was lovely, and said straight away the Harmony test was good news, and I almost cried! Then he asked if we wanted to know the sex? We had discussed this, and said yes. I'm not telling you ladies (sorry!) but we do now know. I think for DH it made it more real.

The scan was lovely. The baby was jumping around, and so completely fully formed it's amazing. We saw the face and mouth, and then they did all the tests for nuchal fold (2mm), heart function, brain size, kidney, liver, placenta etc. And the doctor said 'perfect' a lot, which is so reassuring. It's amazing what they can find, even looking for a vein in the liver to check the structures are correct. Heartbeat is 157, and EDD stays the same at 8/10.

Got some nice pictures, but they do sort of just look like everyones 12 week scans. The best was actually seeing the baby moving around. It was pushing off from the wall and bouncing back like it was playing. Then suddenly fell asleep and the tech poked me a few times to get the baby to wake up. Very fun!

I'm excited by my operation now! I just want to get this baby locked and loaded, and prepare for a totally dull 6 months.

:j:T so pleased t2d! Are you moving to Oz because of friends or just because? If I hadn't met my now DH 3 weeks after my return from a 10 week trip out there I think I would have emigrated. He is not keen on moving and I can respect that.

Alioops - if you don't mind me asking (ignore if you do) is the genetic specialist midwife for your neuro condition, the baby or both of you? Hadn't heard of this kind of job before.

Lummy lordy me I am next scan I think on Monday aka 4 sleeps. Flip flip heck heck. My friend said the build up to scans are the worst and the moment of the best (obs when everything is perfect like t2d)
