That's what I keep telling myself. It's all roses and sunshine one min but then reality kicks in. We currently have £3400 a month but IF I go part time and a big if as they might not let me then we will have £2500 a month and that's a huge difference with an extra mouth to feed.
Our outgoings inc car are 1700 I'm desperately trying to get them down.0 -
I know! You're my IVF twin. And tomorrow we'll reach our 2nd trimester :T WTDN, not long for you too. The pain is caused by the growing uterus. She did not say why it starts now (for most).
Yay twin! Can you believe we are at 12 weeks. I looked at some maternity leggings today that someone linked to on another thread, and I was suddenly like 'I'm looking at maternity clothes!! for ME!! And not just cause I'm having a fat day!!'Slightly freaky...

glad it's not just me with the weird side pain. And it's on the left too now you mention it. But my boobs are having a really painful day. Back to sharp stabby pains. Reassuring though.lilmissreading wrote: »I am not IVF so no scan yet (5 sleeps to go!) My issue with people going for early scans is that if there are symptoms such as bleeding or severe pain this is absolutely understandable. However the reason some people have to wait until week 13 for their first scan is because of other people going unnecessarily which does seem unfair. Each person is of course entitled to make their own decision based on their own medical background. I know I am low risk compared to other pg so maybe easier for me to dismiss worries.
You are right of course, I shouldn't be suggesting it... plus I think scans add to worry in the end!lilmissreading wrote: »I have started eyeballing gumtree for bargains. Sadly no relatives to pass things off (last family born in our family is a teenager now) and only a couple of friends with babies - do you know any? We bought our house and worked very hard to afford somewhere with a spare room so we can lodge out rooms (started now to help pay for kitchen). We think I can do 4 days and hoping OH can get a 3 day job. So once mini me sleeps through the night we'll get a lodger back in and hope to get by.
SO many of my friends have babies, but they have all gone to Australia with all their baby stuff! So we need to get through about 4-6 months with minimal stuff, and things that we can pack up and bring with us when we move to Australia. We are sending a container but it takes a few months, so things like cots etc need to somehow travel with us on the plane... god knows how.
Maybe we just get friends to set us up in Oz, and we will just hop on the plane with the baby under one arm and a couple of nappies! I can dream. :rotfl:0 -
Monty, generally I have the pain for a few hours each day and occasionally it felt extremely heavy like my period was about to start. I do get a few days every-so-often where it goes but it then comes back again. I'm sure you already know this, but take paracetamol if the pain is not manageable. Don't you have endometriosis? I have severe endo so think I got the pain early because my scar tissue is stretching. If you do have endo, it's likely you have a higher pain threshold. I don't take paracetamol as it's currently manageable in comparison to what I'm used to and I want to keep track of my pain levels - if it gets worse I want to know something is wrong rather than thinking the medication is wearing off.
When saving for my 'happy day fund', as I called it, I joined this thread: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4224759 Since then Mr P left his job and went self-employed so I now contribute more to the household bills and I'm saving to makeup the shortfall.Pots: House £6966/£7100, Rainy day Complete, [STRIKE]Sunny day £0/£700[/STRIKE], IVF £2523/£2523, Car up-keep £135/£135, New car £5000/£5000, Holiday £1000/£1000, MFW #16 £2077/£3120

You do know that babies used to sleep in drawers... A moses basket could be your best option until you buy a cot in Oz. When do babies, generally, grow out of moses baskets?Pots: House £6966/£7100, Rainy day Complete, [STRIKE]Sunny day £0/£700[/STRIKE], IVF £2523/£2523, Car up-keep £135/£135, New car £5000/£5000, Holiday £1000/£1000, MFW #16 £2077/£3120

I think six months, but I like the idea of those bedside cots. Might be just the right time anyway to move out of it. To be honest we will get what we need and sell it on our give it away. The karma circle will give us lots of free stuff in oz I suspect.
Out babies are due on my wedding anniversary! Would be lovely if they came on time.0 -
My daughter used hers till 3-4 months I think but she was quite small.0

Thanks lilmiss. Slept soundly from 8pm til midnight and hubby said I was dead to the world when he popped up during that. Now been lying awake since midnight willing sleep to come again! I'm too hot which isn't helping but can't sleep without covers on me!
