If it's a dodgy belly with toilet trips then possibly pregnancy related as a few of us have had that more than actual sickness, I know I have.

Twins are on both sides of our families, I have twin aunts on my Mum's side and twin cousin's on my Dad's side plus DH's Mum was a twin (twin didn't survive). There is an increased risk of having twins when you are over 35 (yep), have a high bmi (yep) and they run in the family (yep) or it could just be a load of codswollop :rotfl:.

I think it's just because I'm only possibly wanting one child due to my own health issues that sods law I'd end up having twins plus my girlfriends said that they'd laugh themselves silly if I ended up with twins god love em.

I'm probably just being paranoid :rotfl:

My understanding is that twins only 'run in the family' on the mother's side, if you know what I mean, because it is the woman who needs to be predisposed to either release two eggs or have an egg that splits into two. So your husband having twins in the family would not be an issue...but your family would!

I was a twin (other one didn't survive) so I was a bit worried too, especially as I have had quite strong symptoms. But at the 8 week scan there was only one in there so I was very relieved!

A colleague of mine has just had twins (she did have IVF though) and I must admit, they are adorable. But rather her than me I think!

    Afternoon ladies!

Had my scan this morning and everything looked fine. The baby was wriggling a lot and we managed to get a nice photo so feeling really happy and looking forward to telling people.

They left my due date at 28/09/2014 so that puts me at 12+1 which was the same as my calculations.

I guess the time has come for me to move to the next thread. I will still be lurking though. Thanks for all the support and wishing you all luck and seeing you over on the next thread soon xx

    Yay! Congratulations :)

Hopefully see you on he next thread on Friday!

My sympathies to all who are struggling at work today! I was not working today but still have had a rubbish day. Slept TERRIBLY last night...just awake for hours with stupid itching :( phoned the doctors and spoke to a doctor who said she would leave me a prescription. When I went to pick it up I was horrified to find it was only for cream...I've GOT cream in the drawer, I always understood that cream just treats the symptoms and you need a pessary or tablet to actually tackle the cause! Argh :( so I will use it but I don't entertain much hope. She said if it hasn't gone in 7 days to phone back so I will.

Also went for my repeat blood test. I haven't really let myself think about it much but I am slightly worried it is going to be bad news. Hope it is not too long before I hear about it. My mum works in the hospital lab so she came up and met me, which was nice as I do get a bit funny about having blood taken after passing out once when it was done. I have had it done loads of times since then and been absolutely fine but I still think about it!

I have paid for the bad night's sleep by being sick all day :( and feeling generally rubbish. Some of the maternity clothes I ordered have arrived but as yet I have no energy to open the packages and try them on! It is all a bit pathetic. On the plus side, I am only at work for 2 days this week! This is my week when I have Monday and Thursday off, and I have my scan on Friday so off then too. So hopefully even I can manage 2 days!

Yes I know, but they say on the packet that you should not take them during pregnancy. So I hoped the doctor would prescribe something that you could use during pregnancy!

Just delurking to reassure the knackered ladies that it does get better. I was totally exhausted until about 16 weeks-hauled myself into work, but could then only vegetate on the couch evenings and weekends, but it does improve (for a while) and you will feel normalish again :)

Thank you! But that still scares me....16 weeks?! We are going on holiday at 14 weeks and I really really hoped to feel ok by then :( argh :(

Also had a conversation with my mum today where I said I hoped the sickness and nausea would disappear soon as I am nearly 12 weeks and she said 'you know you won't just wake up at 12 weeks and it will be gone? It will be very gradual!' I am probably a complete idiot but I actually had thought there would be a 'wake up and suddenly feel better' day! :o clearly that was really stupid but I am gutted to discover it is not the case :( boo!

Urgh, I ran for the train this morning and my lady bits are hurting again.

My boobs grew again in the last week, a work shirt that was fine last week suddenly is tight today. That or I'm filling out everywhere but my face. I'm not sure if my belly bump is pregnancy belly or food bump - I've been eating too many carbs recently.

Teacake, I'll probably be late joining you and the others on the next thread. My scan is on 13+1 so I'll only move over after I see sweet pea is OK.

What is it about Mondays? I'm knackered too. Although it could be because I've come back from acupuncture and was quite relaxed.

Daisie, I hope your thrush is sorted soon and your blood test is OK. Where did you buy your clothes from?

Growing up I had some friends that were multiples. At the first scan they saw 1 baby, 2nd 2 and third 3. Their mum refused to go for a 4th scan. All of them were not identical.

You can only use the cream in pregnancy unfortunately. Mil is a mw and forbade me from buying nuclear strength pessary when I got thrush at about 8 weeks. Think it's something to do with introducing 'foreign bodies' into vagina as you're more susceptible to infection when pregnant as immune system is carp. It did work for me within a few days so hopefully it will for you too.

I think the most irritating thing is the reluctance of any pharmacist to sell meds other than paracetamol if you ask about suitability in pregnancy. I'm not talking about trying to buy roaccutane or some other ridiculous not for pregnancy under any circumstances medication- it really wound me up that I had to get a px for canestan from my GP as pharmacist wouldn't sell me it otc. When went back with stupid px he sold me it otc as it was cheaper that way. I was fuming, i'd been in agony for 3 days waiting for stupid px and then he didn't even bloody use it. Lol.

Can you use the internal cream? It's still cream but its placed further up, which is where I always think the infection is coming from even though the itch is outside.

Also I find eating lots of active natural yogurt helps.

God I hate thrush!! Please god I can keep it away. I might follow my own advice and add activia or something to my diet.

I'm watching OBEM for the first time. Never had the courage too before.
