    Thanks monty-doggy, just signed up.

I've got my scan on Monday morning and time is draaaaaaggging. I am panicking because I never got a confirmation letter but I know it's booked as I booked it myself. I just have visions of turning up and them turning me away.

    Hope everyone is well xx

PS is that RBH? If you could give me an idea of how long you wait, if you have to see a mw as well while you're there, if you really don't have to have a full bladder etc I'd be v grateful! I went for an 8.20am on Monday morning in the hope it would be on time.

Just thought Id pop back as can answer this!

No you dont see a midwife just the sonographer. You dont need a full bladder, infact my bladder was a bit too full and the baby couldnt move as well as it could have done, I almost had to go to the loo, it wasnt deliberate it was just that I was feeling sick and drinking a bit was helping and then I forgot to like go to the loo anytime soon before the scan! So their instructions were correct.

One time I got in about 15 mins early, one time was pretty much on time maybe a 5/10 min wait and another time was like 40 mins late. So Id say at that time in the morning you'll go in on time.

Theyve changed the system now, you used to pay £2 per photo and give the sonographer the money. Now I think its £5 a photo or £10 for 3 or something, and you have to buy some voucher before you go into the room from a machine although I have no idea where the machine is ( I think theyve used the funds for the new bigger waiting room they have). However when we were there the machine wasnt working as there was a sign up saying this - still no idea where the machine was lol, and the sonographer didnt know that so at the end I was like can I get one of those photos and she said ooh no I didnt save any as you didnt give me a voucher and I said no the machine isnt working, and she was like 'Not again!'

It didnt matter as it was just additional growth scan we had at 29 weeks and the pics arent great at that stage anyway, but I would have been annoyed if it was 12 weeks! Although perhaps she would have asked us then as its a more obvious time to want a photo.

As for your friend, I know after a year of ttc I couldnt bare to look at peoples baby pages etc on facebook either and Id probably love to have had a toddler with some bugs, than still be trying, so perhaps break the news gently to her in a text or something, because I know if I heard it face to face or on the phone I would have just been waiting to burst into tears. Its really difficult unfortunately and ttc can make you quite bitter even if you dont want to be.

    Nope NHS.

My private scan I got pictures and a DVD.

Most NHS places charge for photos, you were lucky!

Hey ladies hope everyone's doing well.

Can't offer any advice really as my friend's have been lucky and fallen pregnant pretty quickly.

Thanks for sharing the aptamil info, I've now signed up and spent a while reading the information on there.

I got my scan date letter through this morning for 8.10am on the 22nd April just hope I remember not to go to the toilet when I wake up lol. I'll update the list when I'm on the computer.

I also went and got tablets for my heartburn / indigestion yesterday and I feel so much better. I was hoping to get by with just gaviscon but it was constant so I'm glad the doctor agreed to prescribe them.

I'm really tired too, this growing another human lark really takes it out of you. I didn't get to bed til after 1.00am, woke for the loo a couple of hours later, up at 9.00am,out and about for a good 4 hours then home and have just been in bed watching movies. Luckily DH has been understanding but the poor guy has me moaning at home and a girl he works with is roughly the same or a week further on so has her moaning to him as well at work.

Lilmiss it used to do my head in when friends moaned about their kids. I was just screaming inside "at least you have them" sototally get where your friend is coming from. Also any hint of a pregnancy/birth on FB and thy person would be hidden.

It's very very painful long term TTC, and you can become very jealous and sensitive. I have my fingers crossed for your friend.

After a year of trying a doctor would probably refer her for test and stuff. Maybe let her know you're there for her? Although she may not want to talk to you, what with you being pregnant.

Whatever you do dont tell her to "just relax" :)

I can't believe they charge for pics, I was given two!

Although all the nurses were also shocked I'd conceived naturally and it had stuck as all my notes indicate not possible. The sonographer said I had the most glowing smile she's ever seen :)

Don't worry if you forget and go to the loo, they fill you up or can do it internally, you get a good picture that way. My first scan my bladder was empty but she could still see by pressing a bit firmer, my second was internal and so clear. I don't want to wait until 12 week for my next one!
