Has anyone decided on whether they are having the NT scan or not?

I'm really unsure as if I did go for it and then be told I'm high risk then I wouldn't have the CVS due to the risk of miscarriage. My lack of decision making is driving me mental. Xx

I am having it. Probably would not have the further tests either but will make that decision if and when it comes to it.
  • Rubbish at this stuff. Know I could google it but what is the NT scan?

Aaargh, popped in with a massive post which has just disappeared!
T2D-We have a doppler, only started using it after about 18 weeks. Use plenty of gel, I bought more dead cheap on ebay-the earphones get very screechy if you use a wee amount. I also found it easier to find her if I was lying down. She is usually, even now, much easier to find lower down-underneath belly button-rather that randomly rubbing the doppler all over my belly.
I love using it, she gave a right good kick when we were having a listen the other night :)

DanielleNic-I didn't have the NT testing, but we did have the 20 week fetal anomaly scan. We didn't want to know about downs etc as it wouldn't have changed our minds about having her, but felt that anything picked up at the scan may have required very quick medical intervention, such as cleft, and we would want the staff to be prepared for anything medical. Hope that makes sense and isn't too rambly.
Hope all you less than 12 weeks ladies are well :)

Fell asleep on the tube again. Then forgot to pick up my parcel from the Amazon locker so no doppler! I think a sleep on the sofa is called for.

Waiting at home for a friend that promised to come have dinner with me. Actually he offered to bring dinner, instead it's nearly eight, I've ordered pizza and he claims he is on the way. He does this every time... Why do I fall for it!

Now I'm tired, hungry and grumpy. Guarantee he will be drunk too. And he had lied to me about a tube delay. Grrrr

Does anyone else have a ridiculous sense of smell? I can smell far more acutely than usual. Causing mild annoyance.

heavens yes! someone had feta cheese and olives at lunch time at work yesterday and it smelt like someone had been sick (sorry tmi) had to ask them to take the empty containers to the kitchen bin rather than the office bin.

    Hi everyone,

I no longer have an embryo in my belly. I have a fetus. Hello fetus

I'm still getting pain every day and throughout the day but at different levels. I really now think it's the endo scars stretching. Surely I would not get the pain for this long otherwise. I've had a teeny tiny bit of brown spotting. I'm not worried about it anymore.

I'd not heard from the hospital phoned them yesterday and spoke to them this morning. The doctors surgery had not referred me. I should get a letter with my date sometime next week.

I'd not heard of the harmony test before. The hospital where I had IVF does it. If the other tests come back as high risk I'll probably get that test done.

I'm now wondering if I really want to have pea at the local hospital, even though it's ridiculously close to where we live. I was looked after so well at the IVF hospital, even though it would be a different ward, I would feel like I was in safe hands. Also, any revenue generated from private patients in the testing suite is but back into developing services throughout the trust.

I've read about the doppler and read it's easy to mistake your own heart beat for the babys and that put me off.

I'm also eating ALOT of carbs and want to eat cheese more than normal.

I should task myself to try all my clothes on this weeked. Wear the ones now that are getting snug and keep the roomy clothes for later on so I have something 'new' to wear.

We've had a shortlist of names for years.

    MFiT3 #86: Reduce mortgage from £146,800 to £125,000
    Mortgage Sept 2014: £135,500, MF Oct 2035 Peak July 2011: £154,000, MF July 2036
