I don't know if anyone is planning on buying a cosy toes to go with their push chairs but I've just picked one up in Tesc0 for £1! It's plain black and fits on most makes of pram/pushchair. Don't know if it's nationwide or just local though x

    Of course! You're expecting a baby aren't you? :D

Remind me of your baby's due date and if you know what gender you're expecting and I'll add you :)

    Thanks :D

Baby is due on 17 May 2014 and gender is unknown (we may find out at the next scan - I want to know but OH does not!)

Bigz - have they definitely said they would send DH home? When I was induced I was allowed one birth partner with me at all times then up to four additional people during visiting times. Incidentally my parents arrived for visiting just as I was transferring to delivery suite but hey ho!

I was induced with DD, had 2 lots of the pessary on the 3rd and they sent DH home at 8pm as labour wasn't established at that point and they wouldn't let him stay on the ward. I was on my own overnight until my waters went at 7am on the 4th, then tried to call him back in and the daft git slept through the phone ringing before dashing back in a mad panic at 10am to be thoroughly sworn at by me! :D

Welcome to all the newbies and congratulations to nickit!

  • Kerri- so glad your little one is here. We too are hoping to hynobirth so pleased you got the birth you wanted.
    Nickit- wow!

Good grief I'm nuumber 14 now and sure I was 19 only a few days ago!
One of my colleagues had her little boy last night and my other colleague who was due on the same day last week thinks her plug has gone so some baby cuddles to come soon.
I have crutches now so we will see how they help. Still in a lot of pain but not as much as last night where things reached a peak.
Love reading how you are all progressing.

That's a great deal for cosytoes squ1rrel5! I might have a look and see if I can get one.

I've just bought myself a couple of very sexy nighties :rotfl: the only good things about them is that they are not flowery and cover the important bits. Cheap enough that if they get ruined I can throw them away so I can finally say that I've started on my hospital bags :D

My grocery shop also consists of toothbrushes, maternity pads and mats so slowly, slowly I'm getting there.

Smartcat04 - are you able to hire a mobility scooter? A lady at playgroup hired one as her SPD was terrible and she couldn't bear being stuck in the house. Just an idea.
Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck :)

Same as you Mrs TM. I know exactly when date of conception was so my workings out bring due date at least a week after they've given me. So I'm not counting on a timely baby although I wouldn't mind if she decided to show up a bit early.
I'm 31+4 today and wishing time away. Although I think it's more to do with wanting to finish work than anything else! :-)

    Yup same here too!

My edd is 23rd march from lmp so that's on all my notes etc, 12 week scan would have made it 26th (but my hospital doesn't alter unless it's more than 7 days out), but I know it's the 29th!

It doesn't concern me as baby's will come when they want - apart from it means it's contributing to my bump coming up small as I know I'm almost a week behind their date, and they would say I'm over due when I'm not!

I bought a nightie in the sale from debenhams online today at the same time as buying the reduced price starfish blanket :) it's got buttons so thought would be good for breast feeding.

Then will prob go in the bin if it gets ruined in hospital as I don't really like nighties! Much prefer vest & shorts.

Oh I'd probably be dangerous! LOL. With the help of my parents I'm hoping to do a bit of big shop on thursday round the local retail park so I can get all the things I need for our hospital bags. Shpuldnt need to go out much after that.

Congrats to the new mummys :T
Thanks for sharing your stories too.

I'm a bit the opposite, 38 weeks today and right now I'd quite like another two weeks before baby's arrival! Might change my mind as I get less comfortable I guess but right now all fine. Today I am getting two washes through, defrosting the freezer and a friend popped in for coffee. Tomorrow I'm walking round ikea with my mum! As long as I'm comfortable and got something practical to do each day baby can wait!

Dont get me wrong, it's not that I'm not doing anything. Saturday we painted the kitchen, went to junction 32 outlet to get new pans, went out for lunch. Sunday I went venue hunting with mum for a party, cleaned the house and had the hoover pried from my fingers so i didnt do the stairs then had friend round for dinner. It's just I am sooo bored of waiting and people getitng there before me, I think I feel like i've been pregnant for years!

Jemb thats so true, even though recent weeks have flown by it does seem strange that we found out about this pregnancy all the way back last May! It's been going on forever!

I guess my reluctance to have baby early is that I just don't feel as prepared as I'd like to! And nerves about birth itself come into it too!
