Sainsbury's have a £15 WYS £60 code for online shopping so if you're buying enough then it's cheaper to do it online. I ordered £90 worth of nappies/wipes yesterday for £50.

    For new customers only! booo
Would signing up my OH count as a new customer even though the address and surname is the same?!

Twigpig thanks for the head's up on the Sainsbury's baby event - DH works on a retail park with a big Sainsbury's so I might give him a lift home from work tonight ;) We also live literally a 5 minute walk (waddle) from Asda so his birthday money which is sitting on the mantlepiece may not be there much longer lol.

Kerri little miss is certainly comfy! Still, you've had you're show, so things are defo going in the right direction. Also hope your rash clears up :o not what you need right now!

Welcome home Lilymay and Clover! :T

I have just been for a lovely Toby Carvery - 4 generations of us girls! (My granny, mum and DD) When I had DD I went into labour in the afternoon after having a Toby Carvery breakfast so it could be my lucky charm ;) Granny, bless her, has done a Shepherd's Pie and 2 chillis for the freezer - had to do a bit of rejigging in there to fit them in. We now have 3 weeks worth of meals which just need heating up! So I won't have any excuse for a takeaway once baby is here :(

I made a fab banana loaf today, which should see us through until Sunday when I'll be trying out a Betty Crocker Devil's Food Cake Mix which the American sites seem to say brings on labour ... yeah right, but at least it's an excuse to eat chocolate cake (and baking keeps us busy for an hour or so!)

Tuesday I will be pulling out the big guns and going for the raspberry and lemon curd cake posted on this thread... Worth a go! Here is the recipe for those who fancy giving it a go (Thanks to IHateDida for posting it waaaaaay back)

Raspberryand lemon curd cake (from Xanthe Clay's "Recipes to know by heart"book.

    Ingredients
    6oz/170g caster sugar
    6oz/170g soft butter
    1 tsp vanilla essence
    3 eggs, at room temperature
    6oz/170g self raising flour
    1tbsp milk, if needed
About half a 450g jar lemon curd*
    A handful of raspberries*

(I normally use a bit less lemon curd (about 1/3 jar, and a few moreraspberries)

    * Preheat the oven to 170C/325F/Gas 3. Grease and line a 8in/20cm cake tin thatis at least 2in/5cm deep.

    * Beat together the sugar, butter and vanilla essence until pale and the colourof clotted cream - you can do this with an electric mixer or in a foodprocessor.

    * Beat in the eggs one at a time.

    * Fold in the flour. Do this by hand or the cake may be tough.

    * Spread the mixture out in the prepared tin. Dollop the top with teaspoonfulsof lemon curd and scatter a handful of raspberries over the top.

    * Bake for about 40 minutes until well risen and golden brown. Cool in the tin.

    * Enjoy!

I love this recipe so much As the cake rises, the lemon curd and raspberriessink so that you end up with almost fudgy lemon curd and raspberries inside.

That cake sounds lovely! might have to make that at the weekend.

My friend went into labour after a girlie meal out to harvester, so we have another one scheduled before her due date at the end of this month.:D

I've used 'new customer' only codes I've found on websites for sainsburys & tesco two or three times!

So if it's just typing a code in I'd have a try!

Lily lovely to hear Clover is home safe and well :)

Kerri boo for rash, hope pumping helps properly soon

In such a grump today, don't know why I bothered getting out of bed. Dodgy belly again, pubic bone is sore as is tummy and my sister changed her guess of when little miss will arrive til after my due date as she's not engaged whereas my niece was fully engaged at 34 weeks. I realise it's just meant in fun and she's no way of knowing when little lady will come and it doesn't matter if she's late but it proper made me feel like I'm losing some sort of competition/race. Hormones make me irrational lol

Ooh and I've just had the strangest phone call, Doctors called and asked if I'd be willing to go in tomorrow and talk to some medical students about my pregnancy. I agreed as I've got nothing better to do, so should be interesting lol

Just nipping in as I've got 10 minutes spare, my replacement has started today and I've been looking after/ training her all day! :o Not impressed that I have to actually work in my last week, had planned on just tying up the loose ends and surfing the net until next Friday! :p

That's a bit weird TL, hope they enjoy your talk! :) Hope you feel better too, I've got the sore tummy and pelvis today, walking is no fun! :(

So glad that Clover's home now Lily! :)

I'm totally making and eating a Devil's Food Cake in the hope it'll bring on labour nearer my due date! We should all do it... you know, for science... :rotfl:

Wow, forgot what a chore it is to actually walk anywhere! I've been taking the bus into town when I have an appointment, but walked the half mile up to Aldi today. Think I overloaded my backpack too, having a few tummy cramps and baby is kicking really hard now that I'm back home. I'm completely worn out as well. I'm only 17+3, I'm supposed to be 'blooming!' :rotfl:

mincepiemonster - Thank you so much for posting that recipe again! I've been thinking that I'd need to find it before I was due, and now I've got it written in one of my many recipe books. :)

TL - I hate that you're feeling poorly, but hopefully having a little something to do tomorrow will help. Please report back on your talk with them, you've gotten me curious now. :p

I cant believe that they would pass any type of safety/toy testing. They are probably illegal.

They are ! Last year there were stories in the papers where trading standards had removed them from sellers. Yet I still sometimes as them in babies mouths :( bottles too!

GTT came back fine so no further action there which I'm glad about. Originally mw thought id get a later growth scan due to high bmi but consultant said no. Suppose in a way that's a good thing as it means they aren't too worried about my BMI but would be nice to see bubz again before he/she arrives.

On the topic of bringing on labour, I was making my hair appointments last night with my hairdresser (also cousin) and one of them is 3 says before my EDD, she said she had 3 ladies in last year having their hair done on the week of their EDD and everyone of them had their labour start not long after they got home ! Coincidence of course but I'll be sitting waiting that night for a sign now lol!!
