On the wipes conversation - I had tons of Huggies packs that I had collected for free or virtually free.... Once we knew son was allergic to them, we used them for cleaning his high chair, mopping up spillages, sick (then cleaned properly afterwards of course
) etc, so spare wipes of any brand will come in handy anyway.....
I can't remember who asked about any glitches for stocking up virtually free nappies and mentioned the huggies one back in 2011/2012. I also exploited that but there's none out there now that I'm aware of.......TTC #3..........0 -
Argh... a friend of ours, who is very well meaning, has told us that they can't wait til baby is here so they can buy a pink or blue 'blinged' blanket.... I HATE blinged stuff
Not only do I think it's dangerous I just think it's a bit tacky.... do I say so or accept the gift with thanks and just use it ornamentally ?

That's the ones we use.
The cheapest I've found are Asda - they have a regular price for a 4 pack for £3.50 and usually a box of 12 packs for £10. I never pay more than £1 a pack for wipes. Son is still in nappies now, so we've still enough wipes to supply a small country in our house. They're great for cleaning the leather sofa too :rotfl:
Spotted a deal if it helps anyone
Mothercare has a blue nappy/changing box on offer for £7.49 at the moment. No delivery if you can collect from your local store. I bought one even though I'm team yellow as I can always swap with my son's white one he's still using :rotfl: Not sure when the offer ends.......

Yep looks like you can get that offer or 12 packs for £10 at Tesco at the mo.
I started adding a few things to my shopping basket but looks like half the stuff is the same price on Amazon anyway, so looks like theres no rush so might just get the wipes.0 -

Oh no last thing you need is blingy bits in the baby's mouth!
Im not sure how you could get out of it though - unless you said something purely along safety lines and lied a bit, like ' Oh I love those blankets too but unfortunately theyre not recommended anymore because of a couple of incidents of babies swallowing the stuck on pieces, so as much as I really wanted one, its probably not the best idea, but thanks so much anyway.'0 -

That's Asda's regular price and has been for ages, so I wouldn't rush out to buy them....
Ok, best get shoes on to go to sainsburys - they have their baby event on so 1/3 off just about everything, so they better have stock of the huggies sheets :rotfl:TTC #3..........0 -

I might try that approach, the shop that does them also has pram sets and things so I would need to hope they don't get one of them instead ( as they sit on top of pram so they may think that's ok then as no hazard) but I genuinely wouldn't use itI'll maybe see if I can find an online link though about not using blinged things and post it hoping they see it. The shop has blinged dummies too, which I thought were actually banned now

"I think it's basically that if they're all like padded up with a big winter coat or suit on, the self belt/straps won't protect them properly in a crash because I guess if they're in some sort of puffa thing it would compress easily and then they would essentially be in a strap that's too big?"
sorry, quotes button not working......my brother rather helpfully (not) told me that car seats are more to protect the person sitting in front rather than the actual child! He can be so comforting sometime *rolls eyes*0 -

Omg a blinged dummy
I cant believe that they would pass any type of safety/toy testing. They are probably illegal.0 -

Argh not only is little miss not budging, but I now have a rash on the top of my bump
I've looked it up and it looks like an antihistamine will get it to go away and it's just something that can occur late in pregnancy. It's probably related to me not being able to cool myself down effectively without a thyroid
Pumping has brought on BH but they're not going anywhere.
